What about 'The Blues are back in town" from Thin Lizzy???

Or "And I guess that's why they call us the Blues" from Elton

I personally would love the second one to be our theme before the game. Could we ask Sir Elton to re-perform it with different lyrics?

Would cost a shitload but you know what, imagine us all singing it prior to a big game at the 'G (and then get belted by 128 points with a coach sacking on the Monday)

marketing dept...get onto it...It's a real winner

Love the Thin Lizzy suggestion. Up and about! The 2nd idea re Elton..totally depressing...worst idea ever...total downbuzz before a game. Our own theme is already slow.
Doc...I like the upbeat spirit of the 'blue and white'and the opportunity for crowd chants in it... but too much 'beating up, black and blue' in the lyric.
Also too much 'white' we aint The Cats!! Would need lyric adjustment but I like the upbeat spirit.

Disagree...change the lyrics, change the beat but hey, if you think its the worst idea ever, you've lived a pretty insular life
PS. would've thought Daniel Andrews handing Transurban $1B of our hard earned cash wasn't that great either...maybe that was the 2nd worst idea ever

Seriously, if the AFL brings in the 666 Rule, that'd just be a promoter's dream.

Up the irons!

I hear the rule change video will have Sympathy For The Devil as its soundtrack. Gil wil appear in front of a fiery background and lip sync as Mick sings 'please allow me to introduce myself'...

Ok..let me alter that to 'worst anthemic song for carlton ' idea. Although..in the post loss context, it works really well. The exit music after home game losses...yeah. like it.

Down Payment Blues - AC/DC would be quite appropriate.

I don't know who this Surely is, but I hope she doesn't take this idea too seriously.

Kanye West & Lil Pump - I Love It

Might as well go all out.

One year in the early 90's, I was around 12, we got this cassette tape in the mail from the club. Had Craig Bradley and Sticks Kernahan with messages for the fans... as well as the team song and this other song as well on the B side. I played that tape until it broke, in the car and at home.

Anyway, it had a bunch of blokes (who at the time I thought were the players) sing what I know now is the Chelsea team song:

The adapted lyrics were:

Blue is the colour
Football is the game
We're Carlton boys together
Winning is our aim
We're sure we can win that flag again
'coz Carlton, Carlton is our name

Anyway, we should keep our club song. It's awesome.

Why were on the subject why is it a team can be call the bombers in this day and age.
Having served my country I can definitely say there is no such thing as a good bomb or bombers.

Essendon** shouldn't exist. Bombs shouldn't exist. Makes sense.

Bombs can also be injected with lethal chemicals that increase their destructive power.

AFL has a round for every politically correct cause under the sun.

Innocently point out that a nickname of bombers is not PC.

The team that never lets you down?

Yeah I always thought it was a bit dumb.

Kind of like Collingwood's premiership a cakewalk, eh?
