Ed Curnow was dreadful.

Fumbled terribly the whole night. Costly.

Good thing was that that was not our best 22.

Tonight was probably the first time I’ve queried the coaching although the counter argument will always be cohesion and how injuries have cost us.

I noticed same thing.

I couldn't believe it.
It was unbelievable.
I don't believe it.

I saw it.

Ed Curnow's role this season has been as a ball winning midfielder, which just shows how lacking in midfield depth the club is.

You also have Marc Murphy for some reason only winning 4 contested possessions and zero clearances - same numbers in round 22 and 21 (was he injured)?

You don't want the ball in Ed Curnow's hands - you want him playing a lock down role.

Don't forget no Fisher-Dow-Kennedy last night - they return next year and Ed can return to a role which suits his strengths.

Polson was great and has a future forward pocket to call his for the next decade, imo. and, De Konning didn't get killed as per Walls' suggestions. So that was good.

De-list rowe. He's been getting towelled up all year long to the point where it's just embarrassing. Crashing a pack from 5metres back that already had marchbank and weiters under the ball, and breaking weiters nose and concussing him, has to surely be his final piece of work in a blues jersey, yeah?

i find it staggering in an 104 point loss that we had more inside 50's than them. That surely can't have happened in the history of the game before? I don't even know what it means or who to blame

Great post braithy.

I love the last line. Ditto.

I tend to agree Effes.

I looked at the side without the old men in it.
I'm talking Ed, which I couldnt believe I did, and Murphy, Simpson, Wright, Rowe, Thomas, Casboult Kerridge who looks old, as does Graham and Mullet

I dont think any of them will be First 22 by the end of 2019. Murphy will be contrated for 1 more year after that.

We will be a better side with those mentioned replced by better players. Simpson cannot be replaced.

Bolton: Tonight’s disappointing. We won the inside 50s in such a heavy loss, so clearly there’s a lot of work to do with efficiency.
Bolton: We didn’t get delay on Adelaide’s ball movement. There were lots of fundamentals we didn’t do, which added up.
Bolton: We’ve had really challenging realities this season. We’ve got an incredible amount of work to do.
Bolton: This year will pay us back. We’ve had a combined 240-odd games missed among injured players. Our youngsters have had more opportunities and exposure earlier than expected.
Bolton: Our group needs a rest. There are sore bodies, but there’s hard work ahead in pre-season.
Bolton: Charlie Curnow has hurt his medial ligament. Early reports are that it’s not serious.
Bolton: We need to build up our youngsters to support Cripps. Having said that, they’re learning a lot from him.
Bolton: We’re all human and we’re all invested in our footy club. We go through emotional rollercoasters, but we make sure we don’t get distracted in sticking to our plan.
Bolton: Internally we’ve got a strong vibe. It’s a place where people know it’s real. We’ve created a strong environment, and I’m confident potential trade targets will see that. The challenge is luring some free agents who want instant success.

is it only me - but have we heard these statements nearly every week - so who is responsible for fixing these deficiencies? obviously no-one there at the moment.
deja vu all over again....or is it groundhog day over and over.....

yep I was at Kangas game Rod and it was horrid - I think what is different is this time we really have some very good young players - hopefully some elite and some journey men at that time IIRC we had almost exclusively journey men apart from maybe Walker

The date.
The day of the week.
The opposition.
The score.
The players.
The coach.
The assistant coaches.
The President.
The board members.
The recruiting team.
The attendance figure.
The insignia.
The rules.
The number of players available due to injury.
The quality of the young talent on the list.

Is this a trick question?

You can't fix a lack of midfield speed with the side picked and all the injuries. Our midfield is full of one paced plodders who can't spread to save themselves. We have been killed all year in this area.

Where’s our captain’s votes?

In fact where have his votes been in most games this year?
