Everybody wants strong drugcheats

Appalled to hear on Seven News this morning Shiel was attracted to the drug team because of the Anzac Day and Indigenous round clashes they feature in.

This is equalisation at its best. Thanks Gil. Now you've given them drug cheats another Marquee Game.

I thought long and hard about the situation and saw a similarity with the sleeping Giant South Sydney Rabbits being managed out of the competition by competitions custodians at the time, News Limited, only to face the wrath of the public.

I feel the AFL has been doing the same to Carlton over the last 20 years, and expedited in the last 5 years.

FFS Carlton were a foundation team of Aussie Rules, let alone VFA, VFL and AFL: part of the fabric of the game.

Appalled with the AFL.

Something has to be done to fix this!

Start with a change to ANZAC Day Game. It belongs to the people, all the teams, not the exclusive domain of Essendon* and Collingwood.

We couldn’t be anymore ‘in bed’ with the AFL and look at our treatment.......funny isn’t it?

This is the part that would be different in our case. It'd be good riddance.

I still LOL at anyone who doesn't see clear biases from the people that run and report on this sport.

I love this post.

I read this comment today Surrey and I took note: so true.

Is it a case of the AFL keeping their "perceived" enemy close?

Lets push for a Carlton vs Hawks or Carlton vs Richmond ANZAC DAY game.

What happened to the old and original blockbuster rivalries at the MCG Carlton are involved with which took 150 years to build only for the AFL to cut them back to once a year: Pies Bombers Tigers?

Huge money spinners for the clubs.

We need to stand up to the AFL because it seems to me Gerard and his boys on OTC are scared to address anything in front of Gil, nor are the Carlton Board...what is going on?

How have the drug cheating Essendon* team who have brought the AFL and our country into disrepute have the ear and support of the AFL?
Who is keeping the AFL honest?

The AFL Commission is corrupt! Hash tag that!

why didn't Callum and Dimmy on the AFL site report that Shiel was influenced to go to the Drug cheats because of the Anzac day and Indigenous round clashes they have hijacked?

ANSWER: The AFL doesn't want that information released/ noticed?
Good thing Channel Seven did!

I take it Chris Scott and Clarkson have given the AFL the okay to release the "fixture" tomorrow?

I have heard other players, some that went to Collingwood, say the same thing.
How can other clubs compete when trying to lure a player to your club?

Even in our case to a lesser degree. I’ve heard both Setterfield and McGovern mention that “playing at the G in front of big crowds” was part of the appeal.

Obviously no one told them most of our games are at Etihad and our games aren’t promoted, let alone televised in decent slots

TC must be on holiday.. It's very quiet around here..

I think it's disgusting that those black and red $%#@'s are given another leg up in the form of Good Friday. Disgusting. How did this happen!

Agree ! But if we want to feature in games like Good Friday, Friday nights, etc, we first have to start winning our share of the games we've been allocated.

Probably the only reason * got any penalty whatsoever.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what else he could've done surrounded by that pack of red&black dogs.
