We get what we deserve. We had a poor year and it reflects in our draw.
I sympathise with Kezza but I'll definitely be keeping my reserved seats. It's going to be enjoyable watching the resurgence and yes, I'm definitely expecting a resurgence. To see Fisher, Dow, O'Brien, DeKoning, Charlie and co with a pre season under their belts is going to be good value for the members IMHO.

I agree with Niall's assessment that it's a fixture more likely to see improvement in our team.

In terms of building our supporter and member base, it's @#$%&! diabolical.

I am getting a bit sick of Cain Liddle's constant sucking up to the AFL when they continue to shaft us.

Not saying he should go all Eddie on them but even silence would be better than the continual arse-kissing.

Is 3.20 really that good a timeslot for families? Especially with little kids.

It's about what I expected but it looks like we do lot of travel in the first few weeks.

True, but for new supporters it's all about "PRIMETIME"

So while this fixture does prevent us from the type of scrutiny and ridicule we experienced in 2018, it also can have the opposite effect of making us an irrelevant entity.

in a way i dont mind being out of the spotlight at all. Building momentum though our own results, in the long run we will be better for it commerically too.

I only have them for home games. I had the away option but only general admission. When I say had, I rang the club today and cancelled the away part and now only have just a home membership. It is not worth it financially to have a home and away membership when the AFL continues to give us such a crappy draw. My hubby is a Collingwood and they get 17 games in Melbourne every year.

It's that simple The exposure will come during the week, at press conferences, fluff parasitic, sychophantic stories if we start winning, appearances on footy shows etc And then...when the Blue Brigade reaches a critical mass, those greedy corrupted flowers at the AFL will start giving us more primetime games cause it suits their commercial interests Win games. No, I just chose those who had either interrupted seasons or those kids who will improve (not saying Cripps won't but he played the whole year) Also didnt include Simmo, ECurnow, Thomas, Lobbe Others Ive held back on include JSOS, Kerr and Garlett Bottom line is there is nothing but scope for significant improvement in performances next year. Bring it on!!!

What choice do we have? Does anyone seriously think there would be any sympathy from the AFL or da meedya if we threw our toys out of the cot? We’d be laughed at and hammered further. I don’t like it any more than the rest of you but the fact is we are not a Hawthorn or Collingwood, where a bad word from the President can make the AFL shit themselves. I’ve got absolutely no doubt the AFL would happily see us gone if we put a foot wrong, so it’s up to us to make ourselves impossible to ignore,on the field. After that, we can stomp our feet all we like.

Lemons/lemonade.... Get on with what we have to do... Play good footy and get the punters to the games... Family friendly is right... Get kids signed up and swell the numbers both for members and attendees..... BTW AFL are blaming us for the ratings slowdown... Their reality will hit soon enough.. The rest will be on the smart phone while i manage family life at home. If im lucky i''l be able to lock myself in the laundry and watch the last 10 minutes if its a close game - while the missus keeps the minons at bay. lol.

Its not just Liddle but even the On the Couch team. Something they all fear with the AFL Commission. I smell a rat. Why don't these people in high places speak up with assertiveness to the Commissioners, in particular Gil about the parts of the game they are not happy with: Fixture, Equalisation, Priority Picks...? Strange situation. The Commission feels like an unaccountable Dictatorship.

You may want to have a look at the messaging from Hawthorn and their Ass kissing the AFL when they weren't travelling well and nearly merged. It wasn't until the member / supporters arched up that the AFL took notice and the Pies were almost irrelevant until 9 got the TV rights and Eddie used his position in 9 to get the AFL to beat to the sound of his drum. It's easy to puff your chest out when it's an even fight, but when you're the scrawny bloke that has been belted by everyone, hard to talk a big game....

Well then don't say anything at all. Did every club's CEO come out and released a press release on the fixture? Did Gold Coast come out and say how thankful they were for AFL's assistance with priority access to state league players?
