To those bagging the injuries excuse, while I don’t blame it for what transpired (it was all upstairs) you can’t not see how it contributed.

Because of injuries
- Graham, O’Shea, Rowe, Thomas, Wright, Lobbe (who in fairness hasn’t been too bad) are in our 22
- Our recent recruits in Kennedy, Lang, Marchbank and Pickett look severely underdone
- Our captain can barely lay a tackle
- Our best player has to rely on kids or senior players who are underdone or have with serious deficiencies for support in the middle
- We have no @#$%&! defence left!

These factors didn’t cause what we saw, but they sure as shit didn’t help.

Any of them would be our best or second best midfielder. Some cant even make it into their midfield. We were smashed at ground balls all day.
I thought the coaches did as well as can be expected with both hands tied behind their backs. We were massively outclassed.
I'd suggest maybe 5 of our players would have got a game in their team today. They were awesome and I hope they win the flag. Josh Kelly is an absolute jet.

He is amazing isn't he. Not just a great runner and smooth mover but a sublime kick too.

Yep, from memory he had 11 score involvements at half time from 18 scoring shots. I watched him a fair bit today. He runs harder, smarter and further than anyone. Forget Dustin Martin, this guy is easily the best player in the game IMHO.

Stayed till the bitter end. Very hard to watch. The lesson from Josh Kelly is the real class is near top of draft. Don't swap out of high picks. Dees got Tyson and Salem, GWS got pick two and used it for Kelly. I thought Marchbank was close to our best despite some average disposal. Early we worked hard but the skill level disparity was huge. They get the ball and use it decisively, we muck around and give it back. We are only five quality mids away from being average.

I agree with that. But we had 22 men Vs 17 for the last 30+ mins and were outscored 7 goals to 1.

Docherty and Fisher will be two welcome additions to the midfield next year.
The likes of Dow and O'Brien should improve substantially after their first full pre-season. SPS will improve a lot as well.
Hopefully our pick #1 (Walsh?) makes an immediate impact and Cunningham can stay injury free and learn how to find the footy. Williamson will be a welcome addition to the side as well.
Maybe I'm a little too glass half full however it is worth noting that a couple of years ago Richmond and Melbourne were both beaten by over 100 points in the final round of the season.

I feel the exact opposite way.
Cannot wait to see what we bring next year. All the injured ones back plus the new recruits. I expect us to progress way quicker than others might expect.
We will have a fab defence, we already have a hugely promising forward line and obviously we will recruit mid field help.
Bring it on!!
I t doesn't excuse lack of effort and spirit in the last today but it makes me totally want to get to next season.

Yeah I'll sign up again... and travel interstate to watch them... like I have for the last 25 years... just pointing out the roller coaster of emotions in following this club... come February... "we can only pray"

I almost feel sorry for O'Shea now. There's no way he's THAT bad a footballer, otherwise he'd never be allowed on the training pitch, let alone selected for the firsts. He's obviously been hexed at some point; today, every time he was in the frame on the TV coverage, GWS scored a goal. It's like the ball is programmed to produce the worst imaginable outcome every time he breathes in its vicinity.

It can only be those @#$%&! leg tatts. We recruit cleanskins for a reason. Please sack him for his own sake, if not ours.

Didn’t watch the second half due to my sons footy. Is that for real?

Just when you think we have already plunged to our lowest depth....

Nearly every club that has done well in AFL socialism land has done so with the help of the AFL.

Sydney Swans - would they have won last night’s game without Buddy’s 6 goals?
And why is Buddy at the Swans? Cause the AFL gave them extra money via the cost of living allowance, basically an extra mill in their salary cap.

Also once you are a “destination club” as Collingwood is right now then you can get the good players from GWS instead of the discards from GWS as Carlton got.

Free agency. Can you name the last A grade talent that went to a bottom club.

Gill from AFL has the power to change the free agency rules right now so that Lynch goes into the draft and ends up at either Carlton or another shite Melbourne team. I saw the interview with him though where he said free agency is working well. Liar and gutless.

He can’t make hard decisions, he wants a committee to discuss everything. He is the Malcolm Turnbull of football management... oh but at least they’ll change the rules so that we can have netball zones. Congestion apparently can’t be solved by teams kicking long like Richmond. Get those netball bibs.

Forwards- you can only stay within a forward zone and you must wear a goal attack bib as well. Game is cactus run by a team of Turnbulls

That last quarter was unacceptable. Fancy having more players and still getting belted.

Agree AFL need to give GC and CFC early PPicks. The good teams get quality FAs, the lowly sides need something. I don't understand how the AFL are allowed to get away with the current FA set up. It simply doesn't work. This is supposed to be a professional competition and business. Lowly clubs should look at legal avenues as the FA set up is as crooked as it gets.

Now this is a post I agree with.
Go the legal avenue as playing nice with the AFL results with nothing.

That part I don't blame on injuries. That's either down to ability, effort or poor direction.

Yes - that should not be forgotten.

However, the fact that other teams are more than competitive when playing against them, further confirms how bad we are.
