Well with such a rubbish season and all the talk about our poor list I started thinking about who will play in our next premiership Cripps re-signing makes 1 So who are the locks, the probable's, the maybes and the unknowns? Here's my thoughts: Lock em in I get 8, so a good start Cripps (c) Docherty (vc) Dow, Marchbank, Weitering, Fisher, Charlie, Williamson (maybe an early call on Willo but I rate him) Probables LO'B, Kennedy, McKay, Pickett - so over half a team Maybe/reasonble Chance JSOS, Samo, Jones , Plowman, Cuningham, Byrne - hopefully at least 3 of those Unknown Macreadie, TDK, Schumacher, Polson, Lang, Garlett, Kerr - hopefully another 3 So my ready reckoner makes that 18 Some gaps if you put together a team to play and in reality need at least 26 that can play solid senior footy, but we have a solid base that you can easily see play in a premiership Plenty still to be added and developed, but maybe a better base than quite a few other teams Hope we stay the course |

Great Thread. Plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Carltons prospects for sustained success. I had my doubts about Willo and saw the light when I looked closely at his games. I have a really strong feeling about the King we have, not the 2 in the Under 18 super draft. Our King TDK is bigger faster better at 200cm that the prospective, Whilst Kreuzer Philips Lobbe look after the ruck DeKoning can learn his Forward craft alongside Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow. All mobile. sll good marks and all mobile who can have a crack in the ruck. No doubt we have Pick 1 to add to our Premiership Team. Given I believe the above 3 KPF crop is potent with a strong midfield feeding them, I'm a Walsh man in this draft, not Lukosious, because qualitymids is what we are salivating for to take the heat off Cripps and drive us forward. Add Dow as a 3rd Clearance machine...along with the inevitable FA such as Gaff Shiel or Kelly. If OBrien, Cuningham, Plowman, Schumaker and Silvagni end up bottom 6 in our best 22 players, I think we will be smoking. Maybe next year with a full list and another preseason under their belt. FA's and Trades will happen for Carlton in 2019 and 2020. I expect finals in 2020 even if MLG doesnt say it coz its tangible with the foundation we have laid with players you mentioned. . Our kids will improve more than everyone elses 23-32yo, so huge window of improvement ahead for Carlton's very young list. |
