The end of season can't come quick enough for us, both players and posters.

The toll of injuries particularly early in games has meant that our kids have had to work on limited rotations all year and with the revolving door of players being injured or coming back from injury has left the team with players that can't run and impact the game in the way we need them to.

In normal circumstances we would wrap them up in cotton wool for the rest of the year and have them primed for a big pre season and cherry ripe for next year, however we just don't have any players to replace them, so we will have to limp to the end of year.

I actually thought we got a really good run with the umps for once. I think the 'sympathy' factor might have crept in.

Damage was done early by our own turnovers and umpires turned a blind eye or just didnt apply the rules against Hawks.

Later in the 4th we tired.

Read we ran 11 more kms than Hawks, and we had 2 players down, and more than 3 kms than the Hawks at high speed.

Proves the kids are trying their guts out, and I believe it will hold them and Carlton in good stead.

These losses, mainly due to turnovers are going to improve and the boys will remember the dark days when they have their foot on the oppositions throats. I hav no doubt that will happen.

Also, SPS clockd the fastest speed of the match

I have to concur about our first quarter- the effort was certainly there and we tried to attack and kick the ball into the corridor- but the turnovers killed us.

We have to keep persevering.

Great to see we all basically agree. In the finish it was a flogging',but despite that we are happy that the boys gave everything and more.

Daniel Howe has failed to downgrade his charge from severe impact.

Daniel Howe suspended for three weeks for tripping Zac Fisher, taking his total ban to five games in conjunction with his suspension for striking Patrick Cripps. Could be season over for the Hawk. @AFLcomau

Very typical of Clarko. They were worried with so many players out they could be vulnerable. Clarko wanted to try and stop our best.....as if he needed to though....much like quadruple teaming Fev when they were 90 points up to ruin the tiny amount of joy we could get from that season. Never forget the Fev game, and never forget the Battle Of Brittain

When we play that high pressure defensive game style we are respectable.Well the Hawks pressured the shit out of us and as usual couldn't take our own medicine. If you dish it out ya gotta be able to take it.Or as they say in the sweet science...........anybody can throw a punch, but who can take a punch.................

BUT...........i actually got a couple or two positives out of yesterday. We actually matched them in that kamikaze run and gun first quarter. We once again slaughtered ourselves with NUMEROUS turnovers and poor decision making. We virtually dished it up on a plate to the rampant free wheeling Hawks.Credit to them for taking advantage but talk about shoot yourself in the foot.

The good stuff................Weiters is coming good and at times yesterday he was mercurial in his intercepts
Murphy was super AND WAS FIRST TO REMONSTRATE WITH HOWE.Yes,was quite demonstrative and visibly furious.Good on you Murph. You are gonna be great on that HFF next year.
Kennedy bore in all day and got plenty.Just gotta work harder on getting to the outside.
Lobbe was excellent early till tiring which is understandable with his lack of exposure to first class footy.
Jack Silvagni was very good at times.Read the incoming ball well and got far more of the ball than he usually does.A good sign.
Matt Shaw got plenty of the ball in his second outing with us.He poisoned himself ver well all day and used the ball well.Unfortunately got outmoded in one on one contests. But very encouraging all the same.
Harry also won far more of the ball than he normally does.Threw himself in with more vigour which has been his archives heal.More vigour Harry.Needs to throw himself around and clean somebody up.Kicking atrocious for sure, but a step in the right direction.
Cam Polson was a real busy bee and seemed to put more thought in his disposal.Little terrier.Another one that got more of the ball.
LOB just keeps motoring.Running machine.Another that got more of the ball and for the most part used it quite well.

The worry is Paddy Dow.Just can't get his hands on the pill. Its not for the want of trying coz he continually puts himself in for the ball. Its just a flat spot that he has to fight his way out of.

Remember folks, the Hawks are fighting for there lives and were fully primed ready to kill. That is the sort of game you can learn from. One little slip or lapse of concentration and you are dead meat against the big boys. Our kids put in but those little lapses hear and there cost us.................reckon our kids know they can match it.They just gotta put in 100 % 100 % of the time.Just knuckle down boys.

Thanks, Mickstar, for coming up with some positives. Reality checks are fine, but the constant negativity of some posters just adds to the already depressing atmosphere after another shellacking.

You're not the first to mention it, but Murphy deserves credit for his genuine ag at Cripps' treatment. Even if he's not everyone's poster boy for captain, it wouldn't hurt a few of his constant critics to acknowledge the good stuff occasionally. He frustrates me heaps, considering his talent (injuries probably haven't helped), but to everyone lining up to savage him again - we get it, you want another captain, and you'll probably get one. Yes, a permanent flanker role (if we can get a substantial midfield together - Kennedy's game was encouraging) might help him rediscover his mojo.

Okay, I'm slipping out to zombieland again.

Oh, and yes, Clarkson's a dog, but we all knew that.

Glad Howe got the penalty he deserved. Maybe they're not all out to get us after all.
