We should have quit while we were ahead after SOS on Monday night.

He might be a great pres (I wouldn't know either way) but he's not a great speaker in my opinion. Bit too robotic / rehearsed. The Simon Lethleen part was a bit cringeworthy.

He is no SOS.
That's why I hate it when media egg him on to come out and talk. At least it
Wasn't a TV appearance.
What I did pick up on...he is most comfortable talking from a business perspective. Least when it is about footy.
Ah well. The bit about Lethlean was a glorious victory for the pompous windbag.

Why wouldn't he just say there was one formal offer for the ceo role and that was accepted by Liddle. He just muddied the waters further...not that I really care.

And that will be all the media and non carlton folk will take from it.
He just is not suited as a spokesperson for us. The little we gained with SOS was lost. I want SOS to go head to head with Frikkin windbag on 360.
I don'care if he offered the job to Lethlean or not as I could not give a toss about dear Simon and didn't want him anyway. But MLG came off so poorly with that and Gerard sniffed the blood.

But who cares if he did unofficially offer the job to Lethlean? The board didnt ratify it. If anything it shows we are no
longer in the Elliot era where a dictator makes all the decisions.

Im not sure why Whateley and Wilson feel so aggrieved on behalf of Lethlean. If the only dirt they can find on the club is this shit from 12 months ago than i think we are tracking much better than the media have us believe. Commercially MLG is doing a very good job.
Im more than happy for him to avoid the media and keep doing what he is doing. Im sure he knows (or has been advised) that media is not his strong point and he shouldn't let the media bully him into changing. If it keeps pissing off Whateley and Wilson than i think we are on the right track.

I have my issues with MLG and the undemocratic board structures, but that aside I thought he did very well.

He [REDACTED] up the Trigg replacement we all know that and he was never going to escape that but that aside well done.

The Simon Lethlean ember was given oxygen by Kate Jenkin's leaving. The President has a tin ear and was not thinking clearly when pursuing Lethlean without board support. At the time Carlton was embedding a new women's team and rolling out a RESPECT campaign. LoGiudice's goat was clearly tied to the wrong post and it would have been a seriously dumb appointment

Really?

I didnt see it that way.

It showed solidarity to me.

Playing the same tune as SOS. You should have picked up that Key.

That's life.

As long as the final decision was the right decision...and I think it was.

I'd hate to see some with Lethlean's history with women from the Xavier boys club be appointed to such an important senior role, especially when we are trying to change our club from the old boys' era.

I am not a huge fan of MLG, but if the leader of the free world can get away with “would” instead of a “wouldn’t” then perhaps we can forgive MLG going of half cocked offering a job to Leathlen without the Board’s approval.

Certainly hope that MLG has learnt his lesson from this mistake however,

All good leaders and people in general make mistakes, as long as they learn from them. MLG was fine today, as long as his decision making is good and we are moving forward, i do not give a @#$%&! whether he can preform in the media or not.

Because he's hopeless. He's had countless hours of media training in an attempt to bring him up to speed and falls over at every hurdle. Is he a bad President? No. Could/should the Carlton Football Club do better? Yes.

And Eddie gave him countless “Free Kicks” during the interview as well - which he either ignored or just missed.

What is the obsession with bagging everyone within CFC and constantly taking pot shots, posters think it is fine to sit behind a keyboard and regurgitate the same shit over and over again, without looking at themselves. Miserable people who obviously have no idea how to run a club, probably wouldn't know how to run to the toilet.
They are trying to resurrect the club to past glories , whether they are right or wrong at least they are having a go , not talking shit!!
