Anyhow,Harry in a few short glimpse showed he belongs.Must persevere.Crippa as usual. We have no hope of getting anyone into the club until Cripps signs.Anyone who is thinking about coming our way will wait to see what Cripps does.Must sign him sooner than later and for a minimum 5 years.Gonna cost us HUGE coin but we will be just about be out of business without this guy.And Captaincy to go with it.Cripps is respected by all the guns of the comp,a loose running half back like Docherty is not.Do it now Blues, don't prolong the agony. The longer you put it off,the harder it is.Cruel to Murphy, but kind all round.

I’m terribly concerned we won’t be able to attract the established quality players we need even with Cripps. Without him.......? :yikes:

Match Review of last night's Carlton / St Kilda game at Etihad Stadium has been completed.
One charge laid.
One other matter explained in detail.
Jed Lamb can accept a 1-game sanction for unreasonable/unnecessary contact to eye region of Jade Gresham.

Says a lot about our list and form that I think Lamb would be a loss if he is out...

Disagree.

What tonight showed is that we need to trade pick 1.

We need an immediate injection of class which in turn will give the kids some confidence.

The kids’ confidence is shot and we have a gaping hole in the 23-27 age group.

This. Our "middle aged" players are a real worry. We have good kids, then with some exceptions we have a range of cast offs, has beens (may Daisy never play another game) and never was battlers. Our lack of depth is appalling.

yep until that depth is addressed I do not know how anyone can make a call on Bolts - actually I know how they can, I just think they are wrong to do so.

As we continue this rebuild

then Shaw, O'shea, Jones, Garlett (unless something changes quickly), Mullet, Rowe, will not play and we will have midfield depth and pace on the outside.

Pros:

Cripps, Fisher, Charlie.
Kennedy.
Harry and Dow.

Cons:

Just about everything else.
Defensive zoning and shoot out footy that gives us no chance of winning.
I don't know if they're just exhausted and playing on fumes. Or whether they've lost all confidence. But the fumbles, and drop marks, and horrible turnovers were inept even by our own low standards. It was like the Gold Coast game earlier in the year.
Sick of seeing our young team being bullied by opposition sides.
Crap umpiring. Must have been 15 holding the ball decisions against us. And most of them were correct. But the same adjudication never seems to hold with other teams. St Kilda seemed to be allowed to hold the ball in, or throw it out. And then I saw Richmond last night, and they did it with even more abandon. :hitcomputer: :banghead:

Having watched in person the last two games I actually felt last week was a worse performance. I felt tonight more guys had a go until the end and took the game on. Even though they often stuffed up. Senior players such a disappointment. Every thing else was similarly bad as last week.
Much happier to see H than Levi.

Agree on both points.

Lot of players looked they didn't want the responsibility of kicking it. LOB is a classic example with 5 kicks and 14 handballs. With his skills, he should be a 14 kick and 5 handball type of player.

I agree. He was clearly trying hard. But some of his kicks were a shocking example to younger teammates.

I was listening in the car on the way home. Parko wanted to give Cripps 1 and the other two talked him out of it. Pretty much pushed him into it.

Cripps did go a bit quiet in the second half, didn't he? Can't blame them for giving the Saints a clean sweep, we were hot garbage.
