In the scheme of things considering the year we are having this probably doesn't deserve it's own thread. But @#$%&! me I'm finding this annoying. The constant getting in the face of an opponent when they muck up or we kick a goal doesn't help and it's embarrassing when the side we're doing it to goes on to beat us by five goals easing up.

I'm sure it's an instruction but surely there must be better ways to show intent and aggression.

Hopefully they put it away and just play footy tonight.

Because we have been down for so long I think some do it early in games to try to get the spirit up. To show we won't roll over meakly. BUT there are much more important times and ways for the boys to show their strength and spirit than this stuff.

Stick the tackles.

Be strong in the contest.

Spoil hard.

Put your head over the ball.

By all means 'fly the flag' if you see a teammate being roughed up or taunted.

All these things will raise the groups moral and spirit more than instigating the taunting. .

I got the impression last week that Brisbane initiated most of that

I hate this crap all throughout the AFL.

It's that same as when a player misses a goal and the players come and bump the player who missed.

The other one is when a tackle is laid and the tackler continues to push the player into the ground.

It is petulant and bogun......I am getting bored with Australian football and much of what it stands for.

I'm all for it, too many clubs do it to us so do it back.

I do agree with the pushing of the player into the ground though. Stupid thing to do, umpires should just reverse the decision then.

Yep....and I will be showing may age when I say....Bruce Doull.

He was as tough as they come and feared by most. It was mainly because he was a fierce competitor and never gave an inch. Never smiling probably played a part too!

He was a tough guy. Never heard an opposition bad word about him....ever.

To be a tough guy you need to back it up, our players shouldn't be embarrassing themselves trying to be tough. Be tough in your approach to the ball and focus on your game. Lamb and Thomas have been embarrassing tonight.

Match Review of last night's Carlton / St Kilda game at Etihad Stadium has been completed.
One charge laid.
One other matter explained in detail.
Jed Lamb can accept a 1-game sanction for unreasonable/unnecessary contact to eye region of Jade Gresham.
