Something small to put a smile on our faces…

Image

There's always someone (that's been) worse off than you.

The worst part about this is that it was seven years ago.

Hang on, now I feel even worse. :banghead:

Not this bad? Melbourne won eight games that year (plus a draw), we can only dream of a season like that. We are possibly going to equal Fitzroy in their last year with one win.

So if the AFL did allow us to go the way of Fitzroy, what would I do? Hmmm....

Think I'd walk away and hope the whole thing came crashing down. I don't like the game as much as I used to, and after what the AFL did for Essendon* I reckon I'd be pretty bitter.

Hmm
Tend to agree with your 3rd post
Has an edge to it over the other 2.
I'd get on board the tassie team.

Start watching local footy... Mostly still played and umpired the way it should be

Go you good things

Or GWS in 2013.

Fitzroy was deplorably mismanaged in its final years and went to administration because it ran out of cash.

Really setting up a high benchmark right now aren’t we?

Fair comment Don, but in all seriousness it does impact me the way Carlton are regarded at times. I still read commentary about how we "systematically rorted the salary cap" and yet Essendon* only took a few supplements.

The number of people who seem to be saying that no way should we ever get a PP regardless of anything is ridiculous.

Only two teams are ever worthy of honoring the Anzacs.

And so on.

The AFL playing field is not level and if it tips too far then I'll be quite ok with just walking away.

I’d stick with watching local footy which I have never stopped doing regardless of where I live. And these days it is far more enjoyable than AFL.

At times like these I think we all have a moment where where we feel it'd be easier to just walk away.

the Jon Ralph article was posted on twitter today. I was staggered at the unadulterated hatred of Carlton in the comments. People would flat out rejoice in the demise of our club.

The next time that @#$%&! buffoon Brownless says we cheated our way to the 95 flag, the club should sue the cauliflower for defamation. He has said it for so long that it has become fact in the minds of the average pundit.

Sticks said it best a long time ago... We're Carlton and @#$%&! the rest
