Go back to the free market system where money talks and brings success. This was Carlton's domain once. We hired and payed for the best of the best and it gave us success like no other club.

Then the AFL went full socialist and Carlton tried to buck the new system and the AFL did what all socialist systems do, they tried to destroy us.

Socialism being what it is, and the history of what it does, every single time, is slowly destroying the entire game. Political correctness has no place in sport. I wish the AFL could learn that.

But once socialistic parasites sneaks their greedy narcissistic claws into anything, you only have to sit back and watch them destroy whatever they takeover.

Gay pride days, womens league, hey lets not beat around the bush anymore, every team wins a premiership every year ...

But at least in a socialist system you get free healthcare, which is why our list is so... ahem...
At least in a socialist system you get free education, which is why our coaching staff is so...

Yeah, nah, your analogy is crap.

Interesting proposition on OTC.

Take away the current version of the priority pick.

Bring in a law that each year every club that hasn't made the finals in the last 5 yrs gets an extra pick after the first round.

eg. Carlton #19, GC #20, Brisbane #21, StK #22, etc...

Thoughts ?

That we have short memories.

It’s not that far removed from the original system that supposedly encouraged tanking, whereby any teams with fewer than 20pts in a single season would get a PP before the first round.

But actually it’s not a bad approach. Asking clubs to lobby the AFL for a PP is a bit shite, having mandated criteria in place is a much better idea.

And the luck of having a hell of a good zone back in the day (Bendigo) didn't hurt. Oh, and while we are at it, let's bring back the biff! The game hasn't been the same since trial by video. Once when men were men and women were glad of it, if your opponent was too good for you well, you could just fix him up behind play. Hell, I've gotta go, those kids from next door are on my lawn again. GET OFF MY LAWN YOU LITTLE SHITS! I'll bet their parents vote Labor too.

It figures that a Socialist system would screw the people with the cash but condone and encourage the people with the Syringes:

- East Germany
- Russia
- China

Carlton will need more than pick 19.

Carlton was smashed by the 17th placed team. Brisbane got the highest amount of inside 50 marks for the season.

The draft... it is like socialism. We all feed off the teet of what those in control deem we deserve. They deem Carlton’s situation is not more dire than Gold Coast’s.

Watch the exceptional compensation Gold Coast gets for Lynch.
And why are only three Melbourne clubs in the running for him?
Where is the competition for his signature?

In a free market competition there is pure competition.
We all know he will either go to Hawthorn, Collingwood or Richmond, as other teams eg Carlton don’t have a quick way to pull themselves up the ladder.

Every year we are sold the con that the number 1 pick (an 18 year old) will be the panacea. Bulls**t

Our president, our CEO are all neutered as they all feed off the teat of the AFL “handouts”. (socialism on steroids)
Where are they?
They’re all hiding. Yes sir, please sir, three bags full sir.

Poor old socialism, getting a bad rap here. Denmark, Norway, Iceland... they're the happiest places on earth! :D

No political system deserves to be compared to the AFL. Political systems tend to have some direction or ethos to them.

That’s because the AFL isn’t anything remotely like socialism.

I hope we get the pick for the laughs.

They aren't Socialist countries, this has been debunked many times.

Fascinating viewing watching On The Couch.

One thing I found fascinating was what Dangerfield was willing to talk about.

eg topic was increasing the age of the under 18 comp to 20 years..... Dangerfield obviously not interested in any reform to the AFL that could assist bottom clubs and went off on a weird tangent that had no relevance to the conversation about player retirements and how players need more assistance with retirement. This guy is out of his depth. Is he on drugs?

Then they let Nathan Jones talk (who I have new found admiration for based on his commentary) and Dangerfield again went off on a weird tangent. This time about the stigma of Carlton getting an extra draft pick. You could tell this guy has no respect for our club....and yet he represents the AFLPA...weird, just weird.

Anyway Jones mentioned the 12 year rebuild Melbourne has been in.

-Nathan jones” I find it quite bizarre that Carlton have come out so strongly and said they don’t want a priority pick. If I was at Carlton 100% I want a priority pick from all my experience I would want every bit of help when you’re in a position like that to give yourself a chance to get back up the ladder."

Wow!, just wow...I have more admiration for him than any of the people on Carlton's board. He knows what it is like to live through a team being shite for year on end. Carlton's Board&CEO- all should be sacked if they don't think Carlton should even ask for a priority pick. Put the pressure back on the Leninist overlords at AFL House. Let them (THE AFL) knock it back as Caroline Wilson would demand at the same time as handouts are given left, right and centre to the Gold Coast.

Watched that also Tap.................agree re Danger.Dont know whether Danger had an off night but he sure seemed to be floundering trying to string a few sensible words together.I usually find him to be pretty perceptive but he was almost away with the fairies you might say................now getting back to Jones (gets a bad wrap, tatts,Frankston boy,all that)...............but hell, thoughtful, considered, measured, and very intelligent.I like you tap was extremely impressed by the guy and i reckon he has a great media career in front of him.................and a special mention to the Giants Phil Davis who also impressed me really with his left of centre independent thinking.
