If our experience, Melbourne’s & GWS’ tells us anything, it is that another high draft pick will not bring success and might even delay it.
Liddle is right that we will only genuinely improve when we take responsibility for our own improvement and not rely on a magic pick.

Yes and our Nuffies think we don't need a priority pick but both Brisbane and GC won't rule it out

Apparently Chad Liddle led the charge on no priority pick according to Judd on FC why the board would be influenced by a CEO on L plates dictate this is absurd

Has the possibility been considered by anyone that we've actually asked the AFL about it, and they said "No way, but you can control the narrative any way you want"?

That sounds a little conspiracy theorist. Why would the AFL give a toss about letting us control the narrative? Shitting on us would be a winner with 90+% of AFL fans. Nobody wants a strong Carlton.

That sounds a little conspiracy theorist.

I believe the club knows the answer is no and are just getting on with things...

I like what Cain Liddle has done here. Shows real leadership IMO.

Asking for a priority pick has very little influence on whether the AFL give us one. Let Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast put their hands out. If the AFL give PP to the Qld clubs, you can be certain that they'll give us one too. Who knows, we might end up with picks 1 and 2, without even asking for it.

If we end up with 1 and 2 then we may get Shiel for either one of them and and either Walsh or the big L. Sheer genius......give us the Cup

You guys are completely delusional if you think there is even a remote chance we will get picks 1 and 2

It’s unlikely that we’ll get a priority pick. If we do it will be at the end of the first round

"and" being the operative word. Snowflakes chance in hell of that happening

Brisbane Lions Senior Coach Chris Fagan has stuck with the winning formula, making no team changes for Saturday’s clash with Carlton.

The same 22-men who defeated Fremantle in Perth will take on the Blues at home this weekend.

Not bad, glad Polson is still in... Seems to have been the 'drop after one game' boy in the past...
Missed Garlett in the injury report, hope it's not too bad

Go Blues

Why the heck is Rowe still in yet McKay doesn't play anywhere this week.
The coaches all said he needs 4 quarters and consistancy well how the hell does he get it by not playing at all at any level.
Worst backline ever.
Land of giants....

Agree. Way too tall, as it has been most of the year. Four key talls and they only have two key forwards.

Geez, one key forward and two ruckmen. How many times has that failed us. Both are first rucks only and terrible forwards. now means one will be there alot of the game. Kill both their games every time they are paired. If you play two rucks they have to be able to go forward. We never learn. It's hard on Phillips but like a Test wicketkeeper, there's only room for one.

Levi has struggled since getting injured so needed to be dropped. That means surely McKay comes in. At least he hits the scoreboard every week. He can relief ruck, only has to be for a short time.

Play Kreuzer as a tall big bodied midfielder.

Phillips can ruck most of the game.

I prefer to play a midfielder as a midfielder and play one ruck and another key forward. We're slow enough.

Did Marchbank play in the seconds last week?

Carlton's Round 16 line-up:
Backs 6. Kade Simpson 17. Sam Rowe 14. Liam Jones
Half-backs 39. Dale Thomas 23. Jacob Weitering 22. Caleb Marchbank

Half-forwards 7. Matthew Kennedy 30. Charlie Curnow 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton
Forwards 33. Jarrod Pickett 1. Jack Silvagni 46. Matthew Wright
Followers 8. Matthew Kreuzer 3. Marc Murphy (C) 35. Ed Curnow
