Casboult's come back from a nasty injury, so i'll cut him slack, but he should've come back through the NB's. No need not to play McKay. Casboult has done his job as a forward and 2nd ruck when we have needed him the last few years but it's time for McKay. We're lucky to have what i believe, 3 decent, or brilliant in one case, young key forwards. |

We were good got periods and having much and Pickett in helped a lot, we are still needing better more seasoned players in the middle |

Deflated but sort of proud in a way. Had a massive crack and save for a couple of patches, the effort and endeavour was first rate. Just couldn’t convert and put actual scoreboard pressure on. But our continual basic fundamental errors are terribly frustrating to say the least. The difference, once again, is talent, class and poise. |

I really rate Port so it was good to have a good tussle with them. Entertaining game. We just took some terrible options at times, especially in the 2nd Nice to see the 300 gamer do well |

Another of those games that leaves you both proud and infuriated at the same time. Proud of the effort, the comradery, the passion, and the promise of what’s to come (aka green shoots). Infuriated by the “moments” that undo everything else, the missed opportunities, the 50/50s that didn’t go our way (has a goal review EVER favoured us??), knowing if you had a fit squad or better mid-20s personnel the result would’ve been different. Today had it all, a game of “if only’s”. But I’ll only say that anyone that looks at us and doesn’t see anything to make them think “you know what, we can work with that” needs their head or eyes examined. You can be unhappy with the loss (which we all are), but find things within to be happy about. The last two weeks have had plenty of these, but it’s the other shit we need to move beyond. |

Very encouraging performance, particularly in the 1st and 3rd quarters. Simmo certainly hasn't limped over the 300 game milestone, definitely looks to have another season in him, played a ripper. Kennedy looks much better now than when he was playing with the bung ankle, I don't know why they tried to make him play through it. Very pleasing to have Pickett back in the team, he adds so much to our forward line. It's good that there are a lot of young guys getting good exposure to senior footy this year, it really does bode well for next year. I will be happy when the likes of Rowe, Mullett, Lamb, Casboult and even Wright (I do like him but he has his limitations) are pushed out of the 22. |

Can someone pass the following message to the players and coaching staff: AFL games last FOUR not one, two or three quarters. Periods like the one in the last quarter which effectively cost us the game are unacceptable and need to be removed. As for Casboult it has always baffled me why he was re-signed. I know tall forwards are hard to come by, but really. |

We just have to learn to stem the tide when teams get on top. 5 goals in 11 min in the second and 3 in 2 minutes in the last were the difference. Need to move beyond Levi. He kills all the hard work the midfielders and defenders do with his constant deflating missed opportunities. Polson shows something, but still a panic merchant with the ball. Think Bam Bam has been good since his return. Pickett adds zip up forward. Garlett unlucky with the two disallowed goals at crucial stages, but I still think he doesn’t work hard enough. Rowe again had his typical Sam Rowe moments that cost us goals. Shame ASOS is out for the year, as we’re stuck with Rowe til at least the end of the year now. As for the umpiring, wow, that was just pathetic. |

Aside from 10 minutes in the 2nd quarter and 10 minutes in the last quarter, I thought we served it right up to them. I know Casboult took a few marks in the second half, but I tend to agree that he shouldn’t have played. We might have been just as well throwing Lobbe in as forward/ruck cannon fodder against his old side. Pickett gave us a spark but he struggled to last the distance. Hopefully he’ll finish the season strongly from here. The umpires looked after Simmo but nobody else in a navy blue jumper. Number 30 for us as a bright future... |

Pros: Effort. Simmo, Charlie, Cripps, Jones, Ed. Murphy was good. Nice to have him back. Very encouraged by Phillips and Kennedy. Good to have Pickett back. Thought Graham was okay. Cons: Got smashed out of the centre. Missed opportunities in the 3rd quarter. Love Polson's intensity but his poise with the ball makes Kerridge look like Pendlebury. Garlett is about 5-10% away from being a good player. Didn't get good enough contributions from our younger brigade. |
