At this early stage I'd go

Out: Kreuzer, Plowman, O'Shea
In: McKay, Phillips, Pickett

If Thomas is out then Kerridge in. LOB isn't performing but what the hell, the season is shot and every game he gets is an investment in the future. Rowe required now after Plowman's injury and we'll need him to sit on Dixon all day.

Simpson Rowe Weitering
Mullett Jones LOB
Fisher Cripps Thomas/Kerridge
SPS Curnow Silvagni
Wright McKay Polson
Phillips Curnow Dow
Pickett Lamb Kennedy Garlett

Didn't we beat this mob for Simmo's 250?

Unfortunately I can’t see them dropping o’shit with Thomas and Plow out.

Ins: Philips, McKay, Pickett
Out: Thomas, Krueze, Plow

Possibly Garlett/LOB out and Lang in too

Thomas got a week and I think we can safely rule out Casboult & Kreuzer. So unless Murphy gets up, Rowe will be the only ‘old boy’ at Simmo’s 300th.

Out - Kreuzer (inj), Plowman (inj), Thomas (susp).
In - McKay, Phillips, Shaw.

It would have been a nice touch to debut Schumacher in Simmo’s 300th, but apparently Schumacher got injured in the VFL on Sunday. :banghead:

I don’t rate Shaw too highly, but he strikes me as the most probable replacement for Thomas this week. Cunningham & Kerridge would be in the mix if they are available, but I’ll assume they’re not at this point.

It’s tempting to bring in Pickett, possibly for Garlett, but I would like him to have another game or two in the VFL.

I’ve gone for Phillips, but they may well pick Lobbe against his old side. McKay as 2nd ruck. As lion hearted as Rowe was against Collingwood, I think he’ll be needed to stiffen up the backline.

I wish we were in a position to drop O’Shea, but with Byrne, Docherty, Macreadie, Marchbank, Plowman, A Silvagni & Williamson all injured it’s hard to see him missing. We can’t even throw JGM in, because he’s injured too!

B: Simmo Rowe Weitering
HB: Mullet Jones Shaw
C: SPS Cripps Dow
HF: Fisher C Curnow Garlett
F: Wright McKay SOJ

R: Phillips Kennedy E Curnow

Inter: LOB, Lamb, Polson, O’Shea

Hmm. Sorry to say it, but I think we’re in for a creaming this week....

I just hope we don't "get ahead of ourselves" after a fighting loss.

My biggest concern at selection is Kreuzer and Murphy battling through and being declared fit because it's Simmo's 300th (and not because they're actually fully fit).

If be happy to give Kreuzer a rest and bring in Phillips, he’s been more than serviceable when he’s been brought in.

I think I read somewhere that Phillips had 42 hit outs on Sunday. Took some nice grabs too, so he is at least coming in with reasonable form.

He can play.
He's a better tap ruck than Kreuzer.
Probably not as good at the follow up stuff.

I’m not sure if it’s been posted in another thread, but are we a chance to appeal the Thomas suspension? Could it be argued accidental head to head clash ala Ryan Burton?

On Saturday I’ll be going to the MCG for the first time in many years, any advice on access and seating? Should I buy in advance or rely on being able to get tickets at the gate?

I prefer ground level seating around the pockets or on the wing.
