Dow has also reached out to former AFL assistant coach David Newett to improve his kicking in weekly sessions in his time away from the Blues.

Interesting. His former U18s coach who now runs his own specialist kicking skills company.
Maybe a few of the other boys could join him.

Forget Barker and Bruce , Greg Williams is the one we need full in time post mentor coach for our mids.
An absolute priority.
Cripps, Walsh , Dow , SPS , Stocker, Fisher , Setterfield and O’Brien,
develop into a mighty midfield force. A real spring board to our attack.

Absolutely

I wish I did after watching us for the last 20 years...

On the news tonight I noticed Diesel was at training.
Maybe the club has given him an official role, other than his work with Cripps and Dow.

That would be an astute move b6 the club.

He is not employed by the club.
Cripps and Dow, I think I read have asked him to help them.
Diesel has a mentoring role to individual mids at three or four clubs, apparently.

I read in the paper over the weekend that Diesel has a part time job at the club now.
Maybe he can instil a bit of mongrel into the players.

Maybe not the right thread to post this but it was very sad news to hear of the sudden death of Brad Green's wife.
Brad was an assistant coach at Carlton and I think he is now at North.
She was only 40 years old.

Good decision and about time our engine room is the most critical part of the ground get the ball and distribute to advantage scores just roll on and keep coming.

Tragic. Our thoughts are with Brad, Oliver, Wilba and family.

At the club now we only have one bloke that people take serious and that is Patrick Cripps.

I'd be doing everything possible to get Roughy over from the Hawks as a playing (reserves + odd senior game) coach.
He can also be a senior support to Cripps and Doc.

I would be making him very visible. Lots of interviews and press conferences.

I think he will give young players and the club as a whole a lot of confidence to have him onboard.

Yup just as Hodge has done at Brisbane Lions a great mentoring role model, would be a positive step.

Rumour on BF that Barker will leave at the end of the year and go into something involving the AFL.

This is our assistance from the AFL rather than a priority pick.

McCartney and Jennings can stay on the scrap heap - especially Macca. Bloke is a real negative nelly.
