Kennedy has had one good game in the ressies, leave him there to not only gain some touch but also teach the others that games won't just be gifted to required players until they do their penance.

Watching Ed Curnow on the weekend I thought he must be sick or drunk or something. Shadow of his usual self.
Gee I hope you are all correct...

The effort in the first half was putrid... Improved slightly in the second, that plus Freo resting made all the difference...

Don't care about getting done.. Just want to see effort and smarts...

Go you good things

I'm thinking we might be going smaller this week.

From the bench 3 smaller types, Lang, Garlett and Kennedy, plus one of Casboult or Kerr I reckon will be picked. Casboult might still be getting fitness, so may or may not play NB's, and Kerr has been ok in the 3 games for a 19yo kid.

Good to see Polson in

Not sure about Kennedy given his comments after last week's game, and would hate to see him break down on come back like so many of our guys this season. But.......if he's right then he's a must have.

If we bring the Sydney and Geelong effort we'll be competitive for a long time, but just can't see us kicking a big enough score to beat the Pies with their goal scoring spread.

Pies by 40.

Interesting reading Kennedys comments after the VFL game. He said he's looking forward to gaining confidence in his body and his form in the VFL.
If I was the coach, I'd be telling him "you picked up 29 possessions and 12 clearances last week, you can play AFL and come and take the heat of the first year players"!
@#$%&! playing VFL.
I'm sure Dow and Fish could do with a nice leisurely trot around in the 2's as well but life doesn't work that way.

Weather's looking OK, Kennedy, De Koning and Garlett to play. I'd still consider Pickett.
A small, running forward line.

@#$%&! the Pies. They don't have a tall match up for De Koning. It's a good time to bring him in IMHO.

Or we can take a long game approach and say that after an interrupted pre season and disastrous year injury-wise, stay another week in the VFL and back up with another good performance so that we're a little more surer that you're ready to step it up at AFL. He knows his body better than anyone else. 1 more week in the VFL IMHO.

Would have TDK in this week before kennedy only for injury mgt reasons

Not good to see Polson in ... he can't get a kick in the NB's

I don't even know where to start with the Mullet selection.

The match selection committee is starting to resemble the one in the Madhouse era (error).

I understand your frustration BBW and after the Madhouse debacle I know you see things flaring up from afar, but who is left in the NBs you'd pick?
How does the Mullett selection resemble Madhouse era? Can't see it. We just dont have anymore seasoned/ ready soldiers.

Polson surprised me. He's one of those kids who doesn't fill me with confidence. I'm guessing he'll replace Graham to add some pace.

I don't think its fair on Pickett to select him just yet.

I'm thinking Rowe and Kerr with Graham to be dropped. I would have liked to see The King selected despite being a 19yo.

Who else would you bring in? Obviously Rowe is going to miss so they've bought in Mullet to replace him.
Firstly, he has played games with the other backmen so he knows their system and secondly, he's the right size and pace for some of their mid/small forwards like Stephenson and Sidebottom. I'm not a big fan but I think he's the right choice for this game.

What would drive me mad during the Madhouse era was the Match Selection Committee who continually made poor decisions IMO!

I believe Mullet is a poor decision ... Poor skills/Poor decision making displayed over several years in the system ... he aint gunna get any better. You are better to trial a young bloke like a Schumacher or even a Silvagni off the back flank or just about anyone .
I don't buy the bit about have experienced AFL bodies (it hasn't helped at all ... especially when they teach the kids bad habits).
I believe Polson is a poor decision ... he just has no form at all. He's young and there is still hope but not now.
(There are young players in NB's that are in better form than Polson .... De Konning ... Schumacher ... Garlett).

The MC is driving me mad.

I still see Polson as a guy we can turn into that close-checking and quick BP we’ve been screaming for for years.
