Apparently the latest was on RSN they were crapping on about how if Worpel qualified for this year he'd have won it.

Not sure what else Walsh has to do to convince these idiots.

I reckon if Cripps qualified for this year he'd have won it.

Nah, he doesn’t play a difficult position like FF.

The "self acclaimed" gurus at afl.com.au have done it again.

Dim Din from afl.com.au writes the following:

Quote:
Dinny Navaratnam
5. Sam Walsh (Carlton)
4. Sydney Stack (Richmond)
3. Connor Rozee (Port Adelaide)
2. Cam Zurhaar (North Melbourne)
1. Josh Battle (St Kilda)

Why Sam Walsh should win: The Blue picked up fewer than 20 disposals just once inside the first 20 rounds. His consistency, so early in his career, is absurd. It's close though, and if Stack didn't miss the final two weeks of the season and strutted his stuff against a couple of powerhouse sides, he might have pipped Walsh.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-08-28/ ... r-top-five

...and just as a reminder of how off the mark this Dinwit is, here's the summary from afl.com.au, from afl.com.au on last nights AFLPA best first year player:

Quote:
Walsh, pick No.1 in last year's NAB AFL Draft, lived up to the hype this season to triple the number of votes of the second-placed Connor Rozee, with Sydney Stack finishing third.

Obviously reported as that because they are facts afl.com.au writers/ squigglers can't change to suit their anti Carlton agenda.

Dinwit is a bit off the mark..... as usual, which Carlton supporters have come to expect from the afl.com.au fiction writers.

Don't forget these Carlton bashers as we rise to our rightful spot as a Premiership Club.

I'm not interested in them sucking up Carlton and its supporters down the track. I just want them gone from main stream media as a result from their fictitious bias propaganda.

There must be a list of those journos and commentators we will never forgive or forget. Agro?

The reason Stack didn’t get to strut his stuff in the last 2 rounds is that he was dropped! Not injured or rested but dropped. Oh yeah but if he hadn’t have been dropped and had starred then he might have won. Guess what dipshit he was dropped.

And also if he'd played about three times better in the games he did play, he'd have won. If he'd kicked another 70 goals, he'd have won the Coleman. I say we declare him GOAT.

I've totally nailed this sports journalism thing, gimme a job!

Aww.. dunno, in those two games he was dropped he could have tripled his overall votes

Luke "Ego" Darcy the only man in football, let alone the Rising Star judges to give Rozee his 5 votes over the record breaking Walsh who he gave 4 votes.

What doe that say about this [REDACTED] "The ego".

Can't stand the prick.

He should stay on hpousewife tv and stay out of footy.

He's another right royal goose. He's a "Know it all".

It was his only opportunity to say "Pallaide" - you know, Rozee's team...

Have a look at Riley Beveridges headline for the report of The Rising Star at afl.co.au.

"Blue jet wins Rising Star award, but it's not unanimous"

He gives credence to one of the biggest morons and attention seekers in the Kane Cornes mould Luke Darcy.

Luke Darcy is the only attention seeker to vote against Sam Walsh as the Rising Star on the panel, and probably anywhere in Australia...haven't heard boo from Kane since his remarks midyear, but Darcy was an official selector and voter in an important award. THis Rozee didn't get 2nd best from all the voters either.

AND, Riley stains the headline...but its non unanimous when it is virtually unanimous.

don't let these scoundrels get away with this. The like to stain our club then lets stain them.

Everytime Darcy, Cornes or Dinny or Riley get up in public every Carlton supporter should boo them and make enogh noise to drown out anything they have to see in public.

Absolute amateurs and attention seekers.

Have to agree with you on this one. What a stupid headline.
And the article then goes on to say:

The overwhelming favourite for the award, Walsh polled 54 out of a possible 55 votes to claim the Rising Star in a landslide from Connor Rozee and Sydney Stack.

:screwy:

To be fair, I don’t think the journalist ever chooses the headline.

You're right, the journos don't write the headlines; the subeditors do. Plus, it was a poor headline as there was no mention of Darcy in the article.

Not sure what the fuss is. Walsh won in a canter, didn't he?

A more accurate headline would've been: "Darcy screws up again"
