Aside from the obvious (Docherty and Marchbank) the loss of Pickett was a big blow to the Blues structure. They need Levi to crash packs and be that high marking forward but also it's Pickett's pace around the feet of the talls that this forward set-up has most sorely missed. Matty Wright is a smart footballer but doesn't have anything like the lightning speed Jarrod brings. Blues will be a much more dangerous side with him in there so, given he's been running during his time off, I'd bring him straight back in.
Also, Nat Fyfe is the biggest money-grubbing, tickets-on-himself pretzel going round. I'd love to see Ed keep him to single digit figures and, on current form, Ed will!

Salivating at the prospect of getting Pickett back for the second half of the year. Fingers crossed!

He'll look good kicking he ball backwards from the HF line to the wing on it way to FB and back down the other side.

In a month people will be saying he's useless, doesn't use his run, won't go head first into the pack and should be dropped to the NB.
We have pace and skill in the team already.
SPS, Garlett, Fisher, Cunningham.
Of those, who has taken a running bounce in the last six weeks?
We have Polson in the twos who is quick but missed two shots on goal and hasn't been seen since.

Simmo and Liam Jones are prepared to carry the footy the full 15 before they kick it. Cripps tries to but is getting caught three or four times a game for HTB and is the most tackled player in the comp.

It will be hard for BB to find a suitable game plan for the second half of the year. ATM we are more competitive as a defensive unit but can't score.
Pickett is an excitement machine. So is Fisher. SPS could be and Garlett wants to be but gets ignored and then dropped because BB doesn't want payers running through the middle, he wants players to tackle and possess the footy.

We are not going to make the eight. It doesn't matter if we don't win another game. It does matter if we don't develop the skills a player has and it matters more if we prevent them from using them.

By all means play defensively but let the kids like Pickett run free. That's how they got here in the first place. And for goodness sake, when they are free in space, GIVE IT TO THEM so they can create the overlap that other teams are killing us with.

Seriously mate, your vegan activism doesn't need to be posted in every second thread.

No entries yet, I'd enter but will be visiting my folks that weekend at Lake Boga.

Hopefully with the return of players from injury Carlton can carry out your wishes.

Carlton had more scoring shots in games we lost to Geel and Coll

Well said bs, what we shouldn't do is restrict their strength and instinct. BB needs to harness their skill and add extra layers to makem them a more complete team member.

Fair enough, I'll do my best to control where I post.

As for the winner of the comp, remember to take your own coin, as I was repeatedly reminded to do when I won a similar comp, tossing the coin for what turned out to be Fev's final AFL game.

May I suggest the winner takes a one cent piece.

I hate bye week so I've been going to the club's web page evry day looking fr the stuff they've put there to engage their supporters and keep them interested.
Nothing.

IMO they've missed an opportunity.

What about Cripps's engaging discussions with JSOS and SPS?
