Notwithstanding the fact that Jim Buckley could well take care of himself on the field, our famed “Mosquito Fleet” walked a lot taller with Wayne Johnston riding shotgun.

Pity Sheedy had a starring role last night.

Parko's words about the Dominator were brilliant

Like many others, he was my favourite Carlton player of all time

He had many great attributes but his toughness at the ball stood out for me

Not sure why it took so long for him to be duly recognised by the AFL

Well done the great Dominator

I think they were worried he would drop the 'f' word in his acceptance speech.
Twatley made a throwaway comment as Dom left the stage about 'getting off relatively unscathed' after a few mild expletives made their way into the segment.

I couldn’t find a spot for “Flower” on that half forward line ahead of “The Buzz”, “Dominator” & “Sellers”.

He's doing OK.

Has his finger in a few pies.

Has a Traffic Control business too.

Still a favourite of our Coterie members.

Eddie Maguire commented on radio that, but for Wayne Johnston, the Pies might have won at least two more flags. He said it with genuine admiration for the Dom. He rated him that highly.

Never a more flattering back handed compliment.

Loved him as a player. Amazing how many of that era are underrated. So many guns.

Never able to choose between Johnno and Doull as my all time favourite. Love 'em both and both would still dominate in todays game.

Really nice (and classy) of Bolts to acknowledge him while talking to reporters at the airport today

Minor diversion - Parkin is spot on with the 80's & 90's Carlton teams and if it wasn't for being sold out, we would have won the 93 GF.

My favourite Carlton player ever.
He played it tough, gave away the whacks, but was prepared to cop them in return and never too a backward step.
Had a lot of cheek and self belief, but delivered on that flower onfiekd when we needed it most.
Loved that he always lifted against the Pies. They hated him, but boy did they envy him.

P.S. Like others have already said, what the hell is David Neitz doing in the Australian Football Hall of Fame. He was an ok player, but Hall of Fame material ? No way!!

My god could he play footy - he was duffle coat worthy to a 12 year old in 1980! Had a beer with him plus photos on my 21st birthday in 1989 - a lovely guy and very obliging. Certainly my favourite player of all time and a well deserved and overdue honour... congrats Dommie
