Me too. I've never been to the SCG. What a time to go, huh?

I’m a Sydneysider so I know the ground well.

It’s a nice venue for footy from a viewing perspective because it’s small but it’s a stupid ground because it’s so short and the 50m arcs are barely 50m. I think there was a time they painted the 50m arcs at about 47m.

Food’s rubbish, eat at Entertainment Quarter before (and it’s expensive either way)

Great pastries at Black Star Pastry.

I will take your advice.

If you want something more substantial get Italian at Fratelli Fresh at the Entertainment Quarter. It’s good.

The members’ function is at the Woollahra Hotel which is about 2km and past the SCG away from the city so it’s a bit annoying to get to. Probably won’t bother.

If you're not going CC, I wont bother either.

Fratelli Fresh is very good for food.

The time to leave Mckay in is this game, so what he had a quiet game. Small ground, small defense, less exhaustion and can use his height, this is the game he should be playing.
Silvagni in as probably an inside mid, tight ground, against mature strong mids. Why include him in this game, let him play a few more in the ressies.
Don't agree but I hope he goes well.

Swans are a physical team and use the blocking really well albeit illegal.
You wont see umpires going against the Swans at the SCG.

WE have to win it by playing in front and getting that nut out to our outside runners.
Who are our outside runners who can go 4 quarters?

Patrick Kerr had been doing some relief ruck work at VFL level so I dare say they are going to run with that.

Would have preferred Harry stays in but I trust these guys.
And it will be good to see Kerr have a run at it on his own too.

It will be a big bonus if Silvagni can turn himself into a Jobe Watson-type midfielder.
And I think that the linchpin for our future success is Harry McKay: if he turns out to be the key forward we’ve been searching for, then we have a spine and can focus on our bringing in more midfielders and a ruckman.
We are 3-5yrs behind Melbourne, we are now where they were mid-Roos. We have brought in some great recruits but they are still v young and building games into themselves.
They had largely done this when Goodwin took the reins. Bolton started more or less in similar position to where Roos was when he started.

I think it’s a punishment for pulling out of contests. That’s not on.

You might be right but he hasn't been the only one.
You make him aware of it and give him another shot.

Number 4 could be made aware too - he might not be pulling out of contests per se, but some of his efforts reflect a very acute sense of hearing.

No 4 shouldnt be playing senior football.

He and Melksham were opposed each other.
Similar height,
Melksham though looked like Hulk Hogan against him.
Blatant case of men against boys.

Lachie will be injured if he goes in hard.
Look what happened to our seasoned Murphy against Hodge.
It will be worse for Lachies teenage body.

We've struggled all year to run the ball. Our runners are young and we haven't had much support for Cripps so we mostly play slow, possie, switch, bomb footy.
If there is any ground to play that type of bomb footy it is the SCG and we go and drop our big tree.
The bright side is at least we still have Curnow and Kerr. I suspect Kreuzer will be a big bollocking influence at this ground as he likes to tap to himself then bomb into the forward line. I think the unfortunate bit is that Charlie just likes to fly lately and like you said the swans will take away his advantage using their methods.
They do have a small back line so we desperately need our smalls to be accountable. Pressure them at the fall of the ball and we need Jones in particular to be at his intercepting best.

It's what we are doing essentially with McKay. Bolts was saying in his interview that he'd be back after the bye.

If Kerr has a good one though he won't be though. Levi comes back after the bye too. McKay has probably miss Levi's big body supporting him. Mckay was able to then play a supporting role while Levi crashed the packs.
