Medical staff a bit of a worry. Murphy back one game then out with same injury. Ditto Kennedy, kruezer , marchbank,. Byrne out for 4 weeks, aggravates injury make that out for 9. How about we only play fit players and let injured players get fit before playing them.

Spot on IMHO. Too much of a pattern, and there are very average medicos out there !

Bolts always says we trust our medical staff but on this season's evidence they are pretty average :yikes:

You put way too much faith in medicine/medicos. It is a brutal sport that really can’t be managed in an overly systematic way. One hit, one turn, one step can change things very quickly. The medicos are preventive during off season but often very reactionary once the season starts. Not much you can do to prevent injuries during the season other than warm up, cool down and evidence based recovery....which they all do pretty much the same.....sometimes shite happens. And it’s also happening to GWS and will happen to many other clubs as well.

Muzza it is not getting injuries, it is the same injury reoccurring because players aren't sufficiently recovered. Once maybe, twice possibly, 5 times?

Our injury mansgent is an absolute disgrace.
Needs a complete overhaul at the end of the year, no questions asked.

Pleased to see those 4 back in the team. But obviously doesn't look a very balanced team. Our midfield got smashed last week, and we've got one less in the rotation. Hope they play Kerridge in an inside role this week.

Perhaps they don't think we're much of a chance anyway. So getting Weitering back in is more about the long term.

going in with kerr (when we already have charlie & mckay) is like going in with a man down off the bat. same with jones on the bench when we already have rowe, weiters and plowman.

it defies belief ,our matchday committee.'s decisions.

No it doesn’t. Kerr was playing well until the ball stopped going past centre. Provides a great lead up target and physicality.

Curnow, McKay and Kerr is a perfect balance . Just need good delivery and some crumbers to assist.

Agree on our defence though. Rowe or Jones had to go. O’Shea as well. Way to tall and immobile.

Cats have three big talls. Main issue is O'Shea retained and Graham out. He was one of our few okay players last week

Hawkins. Rowe
Ratugolea. Jones
Taylor. McKay
Henry. Kerr
Blicavs. Curnow

Height is not the issue

I'm glad Weitering gets to play third tall, hopefully he gets a good block of games without having to play key position.

Also good to see we've got three talls in the forward line, we were trying to get it in as quick as possible last week but often didn't have anyone down there to kick it to. Hopefully we can get more than 33 inside 50s now.

Hope Cuningham has a good game, should never have been dropped IMO.

Looks to me like Jones is back up ruckman

That is the way I see it.. No more, no less at this stage.
As for backing in Graham, I'm one who bags or praises (lightly). Just reckon he was going well and showing some smarts. Laid a few weak tackles last week, late , but so did everyone else.
Someone said he thought Graham could go all 'Brock McLean' for us... and when we were getting flogged last week I was thinking the same thing. No superstar but serviceable in an area we need....

Anyway.. What would I know....

So where does O'shea fit in given our undermanned midfield?

Not worried about who goes in and out (that often depends on instruction, development etc), but I am worried about balance and match ups

I’d think O’Shea gets dangerfield and menagola

You can use Charlie in a few roles, much like Kouta, as a key forward, 3rd tall or even midfield. So i'm not too concerned with that one. Not so sure about the defence though. That's going to be way too tall. Most attacks start at half back but with an immobile backline we'll struggle to get any run from there.

One to keep an eye on
Unfortunately (fortunately?) I can't be there.... Rely on TV (yuk) and posters here...

BTW I think O'shea will be thinking he is playing in Ireland this year . Saw him last year and he was pretty good...
Game rules have changed under him.
The first couple of frees last week were in the category of 'a defender can't reach over a forward anymore'.
Never seems to be a problem in the VFL unless you strike their head!?

Go you good things

He was selected last week to fill an inside role whilst Ed was out suspended.
We got killed on the inside (other than Cripps)
Graham got a lot of his cheap possessions on the outside.
He wasn't that effective.

There's more to it than the number of disposals.
