Plenty of positives but SPS is going to need to do more. O'Brien did get it a bit but he has a long long way to go. For an elite kick he felt the pressure quite noticeably.

Thank you, just thank you.

Interesting spread of votes from Pierik in the Age - eights across the board, all Carlton. I would've had Thomas in there as well, who seems to like playing the Scum.

That was a Kouta-like mark from Charlie when we needed it - effectively beat three players by the time he completed it.

Krooz played a monster third, Wright a huge last, SPS some inspiring moments in the last after struggling to get near it at times throughout...

Kerridge! There's a name I don't expect to put an enthusiastic exclamation mark after. Took the mark & slotted it.

Ed Ed Ed. We will seriously miss him next week if they ban him.

Cripps as always.

Great wrong foot snap by Lang to open our account.

Etc.

Pull up the drawbridge. Put the feet up. Any win from here is a bonus.

Was involved in about 20 marking contests, got his hands to about 12 contested situations and marked 4 or 5.

His appetite for the contest is the most impressive thing about him. Even if he flowers up he doesn't sulk, just goes again and again.

Coach keeps banging on about it, but there does seem to be a strong spirit among the group.
The boys seem to enjoy individual and collective successes. Lang being swamped after his first goal not an isolated example. Ed’s late goal.
The comradarie they are developing cannot be underestimated ... and may help us keep the group together as they, hopefully, grow and develop and learn to expect success rather than hope for it.
Like Geelong and Hawthorn used to.

Hats off to Daisy. Hated the deal but good on him for turning it around.

Amusement from the boys at Bomberblitz...

HeffsGirl: "And may i say, [flower CARLTON] supporters coming in to gloat, you just beat a rabble. Your team is still diabolical so go and get ■■■■■■."

KJ_11: "Expecting to hear from every ■■■■ Carlton supporter i have ever met, even if i don’t like them or haven’t heard from them in years, after this. They love a gloat."

Locutus: "I was a fan of Worsfold at the start. He did a good job during the year off and last year but, as soon as he has shown us his own game pkan, it’s clear he’s just not up to the job. He has indeed lost the players. This must be the end, for the good of all involved, including John Worsfold. Now, what is James Hird up to?"

Somo84: "Sacking the entire coaching panel despite it never having been done before. Know what I’d call that? ‘Driving purposeful innovation.’"

chris_64: "Either we are tanking or we may as well be."

king of the hill (delusion): "Because I reckon Clarkson could turn this club around in 12 months. We have some talent and he’s the best there is."

JD_06: "I don’t know… some small part of me hopes that Hird can smile about this… this flower BS club that pushed him out to appease the media and Gil and threw him under the bus… karma is a ■■■■■■. Reckon Hird could walk into the club on Monday morning and make us instantly 20% better by morning tea."

The endless, collective, head-up-the-bum of delusion on that site is amazing. Even the BF Essendon* supporters reckon it is too feral!

O'Brien was never said to be an elite kick. He can run all day, but actually his kicking was his biggest knock. Hope he improves.

Nah, it's all just cliches and the players are all disheartened.

Whatever you say.

one
A good decision-maker who possess an elite kick, Blues fans will want the ball in his hands as he runs along the wing breaking the lines to set up his teammates.

.

and again.

O'Brien's kicking will make others look good. He's the player that forwards want to be leading to, because he can direct where they move with his piercing left-foot ball use

I could find 10 others but im bored.

One of O'brien's greatest strengths is his kicking skills.
It was never considered a weakness.

Channel 7 and Hun both lamenting Essendon*'s wrecked season with heavy coverage.

Our first win after relentless pressure barely rates a mention.
