By all accounts he was moving very well last week. I think it's a good decision to give him another week in the vfl and ask him to back up that performance again.

I don't think the coach and players are tanking but I'm pretty sure SOS realised that loading up on delisted HBFers when we traded and delisted midfielder/forwards would make it tough to finish outside the bottom 4, unless we had a golden run with injuries.

No way we are tanking. At all. The leadership knows it’s much more important to build a winning culture. And pride. (And looks like we’ll get a top 5 pick at worst anyway). Which means we build the team mentally, physically, tactically to win not just once, not just for one year but for a generation. Ie the hawthorn/Geelong/swans/tigers model not the bulldogs model. Whilst I thought Weitering was great in the vfl, it gives me confidence that they’re not rushing him back. We need him to come back fit, confident and raring to go. Even with one good performance in the vfl, it is likely he’d still have self doubt coming back. Needs a few good games to know it’s not a fluke and that he’s doing all the right things to outcomes.

Have to agree with 17th on Weitering. Let him string a few good games together. He was really heckled by the Frankston crowd every time he went near it last week. He was very scratchy and unsure of himself at the start but he mostly over came the wobbles and finished quite well.

Personally I can't see it. I think we'll win 2-3 at the most but if you're right, it will be a monster second half of the season and one we need going forward.
