What's happened to Lamb? Didn't play reserves last weekend, not on the injury list.

Did they take him to Adelaide as the reserve?

Our best hope is if it pisses down, or else their headless chook BS will cut us up.

So knowing our luck, I expect the clouds to clear to bright sunshine just before the bounce, and the last of our runners (Fisher, LOB, Garlett) to pull up sore in the warmup.

Daniher injury update

BTV: SKINS Injury Update - May 8 With Physical Performance Manager, Justin Crow.

Essendon** forward Joe Daniher is set for at least four weeks on the sidelines after scans revealed early onset of osteitis pubis.

Daniher went for the scans on Monday after pulling up sore from the Bombers’ loss to Hawthorn on Saturday, but the issue has been ongoing according to Physical Performance Manager Justin Crow.

“Going right back at the very end of last season Joe had some groin pain,” Crow said on the SKINS Injury Update on Tuesday.

“We gave him some time off and rest for the off-season then a strengthening program and a progressive rehabilitation and build up throughout the pre-season to the point where he was up and playing games at the start of the year.

“Unfortunately on the back of a compression incident against Fremantle (in round two) the condition has raised its head again.”

Crow said while Daniher has been able to take the field in the opening seven rounds of the season, the soreness has been holding the star forward back from full training.

“We’ve been monitoring it closely since then, managing Joe’s training workloads in conjunction with him and getting him to the point where he’s been able to play games.

“But in that sense it has been affecting his ability to complete all of his training.”

Daniher had a further setback against the Hawks, sending the club on a mission to find out the root cause of his soreness.

“In the second half against Hawthorn Joe felt heavy in his groins and that prompted us to follow up with a scan to see how his condition was progressing,” Crow said.

“It showed some signal in his pubis indicating early onset of osteitis pubis.”

Crow said the best option for the high-flying forward is to embark on a full and patient rehabilitation.

“With Joe’s long-term health and career being our biggest priority, in conjunction with Joe, we’ve made the decision to take him out of the program and give him a full rehabilitation to make sure that gets better.

“That will be a minimum of four weeks (on the sidelines), but we’ll be taking as long as required to make sure that Joe is fully recovered and available to play at his best.”

Geez - I stand corrected.

Essendon* were being honest - who would think?

F: Wright - McKay - Murphy

R: Kreuzer - E. Curnow - Graham

Murphy plays forward. Mullett and O'Shea have had a run. We know what they offer. Give Shaw a go.
Jones to play as the utility tall - forward, relief ruck, back only if needed. Essendon** also play only the one ruck, so his opponent won't be a proper second-ruck.

No Weitering?

Don't mind Polson as an in. Haven't seen much at AFL level yet but saw the VFL game on the weekend and loved his tackling and pressure. On a wet track may be a possible selection.

Murphy if fit enough. Jack I'd be tempted to as a big body in the middle but I'd be more inclined to keep him in the two's for a while to keep working on his game.

Please lets get the win this week!

Looking forward to another backline of

Marchbank Rowe Plowman
O'Shea Jones Mullet
with Simmo as our 7th defender

Wow what speed, class, pinpoint disposal and youthfulness!! Why have we rebuilt and this is what the backline has looked like!!

Hopefully is will be something like this instead
Simmo Rowe Plowman
SPS Weitering Marchbank
with O'Brien as the 7th defender

I didn't include him in the ins, but I did list him on the ground. Why? Because I'm a @#$%&! idiot... I've fixed it now.

Ultimately I think we were kind of aiming for a back six of:

Byrne, Jones, Marchbank
Docherty, Weitering, Williamson

But injuries and form issues have cruelled us.

15+ games and some continuos football into Byrne, Marchbank, Weitering and Williamson would have been invaluable this year.

Spoke to someone today who claims one of the assistant coaches told him that at the start of the season the coaching staff got together and decided to copy Essendon*‘s game style at the suggestion of Stanton.
