Bulldogs coming back from Perth

I would probably make one change

O'Shea out for Cunningham

We could either get completely torched or pinch this one.

Depends which Bulldogs show up, and which Carlton shows up (hopefully today's one).

In: Cunningham, Kreuzer.
Out: O’Shea, SOJ.

SOJ perhaps a bit unlucky, but makes way for team balance. Garlett, Mullett & Lamb are on thin ice.

B: Simmo Jones Plowman
HB: Thomas Rowe Cunningham
C: Kerridge Cripps LOB
HF: SPS C Curnow Garlett
F: Wright Casboult Harry

R: Kreuzer E Curnow Fisher

Inter: Dow, Lamb, Mullett, Phillips

Kerridge shouldn't come out anytime soon. Not just a battering ram but a voice out on the field. Him and Cripps were very good with the less experienced players around them today.

This is an important game for us, if we can put Bulldogs to the sword next week, it will help us securing a second round draft pick in the low 20s rather than the high 20s.

At this early stage I'd go

In: Cuningham
Out: O'Shea

Possible ins Weitering and Kennedy only if they're 100% healthy, possible outs Silvagni and Lamb.

Happy to give Kreuzer all the time he needs to get fully fit, Philips was fine today.

Must keep the defensive pressure and intensity from today up.

Was there any mention from Bolton about Kreuzer/Kennedy/Weitering?

yep, they are matchup nightmare for us, especially on etihad.

we'd need as much leg speed as we have.

mullet or oshea really shouldn't play for us again until we're being totally bummed by injuries. cunningham should replace one, and is there anyone else in the magoos who has a burst?

is pickett due back anytime soon?

Agree....

Lamb? Seems to be playing a forward defensive role (actually full on tag)...

Probably working??? We haven't been carved up by smalls too much this season

Picket not back anytime soon. Polson and the rookies Shaw and Le Bois I think the only speedsters running around in the 2s, Polson was poor when he was in and Le Bois has been good the last 2 games but hopeless prior to that. Shaw has zip, a mature body and runs all day but can spray the ball - like Kerridge he and his kicking go all over the park. He was good last game. I'd consider those 3 given the need for speed, along with Cuningham who I thought was stiff to be dropped.

I think the Doggies will need to add some height through Young, Roughhead or Campbell or maybe more than one which might slow them down a little, but still they are quick. Biggs looks close to a recall and Dickson is a forced out.

So for me outs would be the ball- butchers Mullett and O'Shea and the spectators JSOS and Lamb although the latter 2 weren't bad and Lamb may have saved himself with a much improved last quarter after stinking it up for the first 3. I'd go all out for some pace and have Cuningham, Polson, Le Bois and Shaw - all with a week's rest in their legs as opposed to the Doggies coming off the hard surface out West - but I suspect the match committee might go Cuningham and Polson for Mullett and O'Shea.

That all assumes Kreuzer and Kennedy are not back - if fit they both are automatic ins, Kennedy for Shaw (on my line-up) or Polson (on what I think the MC would do). The tough one is if Kreuzer comes back who do we drop? The obvious one is Phillips and you don't want two ruckmen in a night game especially, but I think he did too well to drop. Jones (who played a much improved game) and Rowe down back are safe, Harry kicked 4 and Levi I think did his job pretty well, but if you have 2 ruckmen then one part of his role disappears. So who goes out if Kreuzer comes in? From my line-up I'd leave out one of Polson or Le Bois - probably tempted to give Le Bois a taste - but from the line-up I predict from the MC I'd leave out JSOS.

And Weitering might come up - how do we fit him in if he does, or do we give him a run in the 2s or an extra week off?

Whatever Weitering's issue is at the moment, I don't think he deserves to be in the team. And while I'm fully behind investing games for our future, I'm not sure that playing is actually helping Weitering either right now.

Anyone.

The Puppies played last night, in Perth so they'll have a day less than us to prepare. They played a team of 23y 4mnths.

If we can't WIN this fu__g game, I give up.
