5 years ago Mrs NTB and I planned a visit to Perth to visit our son at a time that coincided with a Carlton v West Coast game. We were not too confident as the Blues had not won a game after 4 rounds. We entered a draw that the club held for interstate members travelling to the game and won a prize of two tickets to go to change rooms before and after game. I remember being embarrassed when my phone rang during the change room warm up. The ring tone was "When the Saints Go Marching In". Fellow supporters were glaring at me as if I was an opposition spy. I had to loudly declare that my team in Darwin is Saint Marys - thus the ringtone. Thankfully they didn't burn me at the stake!

Two things made the trip memorable - firstly walking up the stand next to Megan Gale, who ended up sitting just behind our row. Secondly the teams performance as Chris Yarran kicked a few running goals in the 3rd quarter, Sam Roe kicked a couple of goals in the second quarter after marking strongly near goal, and we won the game. It was great to be sitting amongst Blues supporters in the small area allocated to club members.

It was a memorable win that broke the drought for me. I had thought I was a jinx as my previous 6 interstate trips to see a game all led to losses.

Would be great to see us repeat that winning performance on Saturday evening.

Go Blues!

Nice story.... but are you going to game tomorrow?

Longer thread than I expected when I read the title.

If the Crows can beat the Swans in Sydney with their injuries ( and they have lots as we were constantly reminded last night), then anything is possible. But this is Carlton so probably not.

So this week ....

1. Marchbank is a huge in.
2. Dogs are just going
3. Leadership ... Last week showed that the group was ready to get behind a bloke leading from the front.
4. Understanding of the game plan is starting to kick in. When it clicks look out.

I was pretty much right with everything but the result last week although we did run it close. Get on board the positivity train now.

4 quarter effort is my new 'win' for the Blues.

I put my money where my heart is - Blues paying nearly 3 bucks in a head to head with the 16th place side, who are younger, lighter, shorter and dont have any 150 gamers to our 2

I've got a good feeling about this - Zackary Fish to have a blinder after signing on again

GO Blues

We've never lost to them on a Friday night night either.

I just figured if I'm going to be such a negative cauliflower during the game I should at least try and be positive early doors. Otherwise why bother getting involved at all?

So this week:

1. I reckon the Crows are going to have the foot off the gas a bit. I have the feeling they may have already booked the 4 points and are looking ahead. If we start well and keep up the pressure there is a chance
2. Maybe this time having two fulltime ruckmen and two effective ruckman height forwards will work. Stranger things.
3. We aren't playing on Friday night so they won't all be packing their dacks.
4. Curnow/Wright/Kerridge wanting to prove something against their old team (I'm really stretching here).

Sportsbet has the 24 points up and they pay out promotion going. With us currently being at $11 I am having a nibble. I reckon we'll start fast and gradually get hauled in. Hopefully we can hang on and we keep seeing the development of the younger blokes.

This is the third week in a row I've said we'll win.
I'll get it right one day.

Yep. I reckon we will win.
I think I put 10 bucks on us at the 55 point line. I mean... come on...
If we DO win... it is 12 to one...or it was yesterday at w. Hill.
Anyway who cares..
.
Just go out and SMASH 'EM.
