I know our performances in the last two games have been very disappointing, however I can understand what Bolton is saying about synergy. With such a huge change of players in the club and such a young list it is going to take some time for the team to get to know how each other plays. And don't forget we've lost arguably our best two players in Docherty and Gibbs. Unfortunately Carlton are notorious poor at starting the year and we've done it again. However I strongly believe there is too much talent on our young list to not see improvement over the year. Hang in tough guys! I know we're all tired of our weak performances over so many years. But I feel confident a win is just around the corner.

I agree that we always seem to have a built-in excuse, only it’s a different excuse.

That excuse is injuries.

How many more @#$%&! times do we have to hear “we were cooked after <player> went off”, “we’re missing <player> and <player>, what do you expect?” or “we’ll be alright when <player>comes back”

Sure, that injuries are always there as an excuse is a whole different indictment. But this sort of attitude is more destructive imo.

Injuries are a valid excuse if you lose players DURING the game. Against Richmond we lost a rotation in the first quarter and effectively another immediately after half time. IMHO, the ruckman is the most destructive injury to receive during a game as it is really the one specialist position.
Look at Geelong yesterday, up in the last quarter against West Coast, 1 effective rotation left and over run in the last. It's not just us. It's everyone. It's a reality, not an excuse.

I’ll give Nathan Buckley 10 votes if it means Collingwood will extend his contract.

So basically we've lost by a few goals to last year's premiers, an up-and-coming probable top 8 team, and the team that almost knocked off GWS and smashed last year's grand finalists.

Maybe, we're not as bad as people think.

We didn’t have Kreuzer and Kennedy in GCS game either. Agree, maybe our form not so bad after all.

Pies won by 48 last night and beat us by 24 last week.

We are clearly twice as good last years grand finalist

Sorry Bolts. After last Friday night I definitely got too low and this morning I'm definitely too high. Can't wait for tonight's adjustment.

Ps: Im obviously just having a little fun above but I do kinda love how much of a difference a week makes to my optimism levels. Footy is an amazingly emotive thing.

In a few hours we'll be saying we got too far ahead of ourselves after last night's Crows loss.
