It's a sign of my desperation that I'd almost be willing to consider a Tassie relocation. Then again, I think of Fitzroy, which is a dead club even if their nickname survives - it's the club name that matters, not the mascot. For people closer to the source in Melbourne, is Carlton Football Club endangered? I know there was talk of mergers with North Melbourne and others about 15 years ago. Are such ideas still floated about? It does seem to me that in 20 years there may not be many Blues fans left. I just bought my son his first Liverpool FC kit. I'm pretty configdent I can get him to support them. How on earth do Iget him on board with CFC? He;s got the Swans and Giants as local options - guaranteed glory on his doorstep. No doubt Vic fans have the same problem with Geelong and Hawthorn as the local powerhouses.
