Well, after a terrific preseason, that was an awful, awful performance.

Cons:

The one thing you don't want to do against interstate opposition playing away from home is a fast start and a confidence boost. So what did we do ...
On a dry deck, against average (at best) opposition pressure, the ball handling was deplorable. Spilled chest marks. Fumbling in general play. Missed handballs.
Missed tackles.
Too much being left to too few. Feel a bit sorry for Charlie and Cripps.
Jones and Weitering stunk it up. Weitering needs to go back and find some confidence at a lower level. With the number of players underperforming, we simply can't afford to someone playing so poorly. SOJ gave more of a contest last week.
We don't win when we kick inaccurately for goal. Any chance we had of coming back kept being torpedoed by missed shots.
Couldn't believe how many lucky bounces, ricochets and miskicks fell GC way.
Quality of our forward entries.

Pros:

Number of forward entries.
Charlie and SPS.
Fisher's class.
Garlett showed some signs. Dow looked a little more comfortable.
Simmo, Ed, Cripps, Murph and Mullett all tried pretty hard.
Cuningham showed glimpses (amid all his mistakes)
Polson tried hard (but just seems to make very poor decisions). At least he's got time on his side.

Some of the same supporters who talked us up all summer are now slashing their wrists.

The reality is that we lost two of our best players from last year (Gibbs & Docherty) and didn’t replace them with any ‘ready made’ stars. The club is still in rebuild mode. Yes we should expect better performances than today, but we will have those days sometimes as we get games into our youngsters and tune the offensive/defensive balance of our game style.

We lost by about the same margin to the same opponent this time last year. We have played about 3 good quarters out of 8 so far in 2018. It’s not good enough and we should expect more. But let’s not panic. Keep perspective.

A few of you need to not get so high when we win or so low when we lose. It’s bad for your health...

take emotion out of supporters and a club has nothing

Nothing wrong with having emotion/passion, but fickle and unrealistic supporters do not help the club.

It was a bad performance. No argument from me about that.

We haven’t improved our best 22 with Gibbs, Kreuzer and Docherty out. Three massive losses. Yet people expect us to be a colossal improvement?

After North’s performance yesterday, I figured we would lose. Ablett was an anchor on the Gold Coast.

I thought Daisy was one of our better players.

Clearly we need to find a way to stop the opposition from scoring every time they get inside 50. It can't be all due to the loss of Docherty.

Pathetic
Most of us predicted this sick of the excuses sick of young players excuse
As usual 0-2 again carbon copy of last year against the Gold Coast
Disgusting effort
Stop breaking our heart weak bastards
Sick of your insipid performances against bottom sides
Do something pathetic side embarrassing and just not AFL standard
No wonder we have a low membership
Why would I go against Collingwood next week just to see the Carringbush prevail
Pathetic side
Promise so much deliver so little

Docherty 2nd, Kreuzer 3rd and Gibbs 4th in the B&F last year. For a young team, that loss of talent is enough for us to go from fourth last to last. We haven’t added anywhere near the same talent.

No, but i expect colossal effort and we didn't get that. Personal has nothing to do with today.

This reminds me of the David Schwarz crap he always went on with about how the Storm never let you down but would struggle to name one of their players outside of the two or three media saturated few.

You either support a team because you do, or because they win a lot.

It's pretty simple, and result did not surprise me.

The team we fielded today wasn't all that flash.

Definitely players getting games that shouldn't be.

SOJ getting dropped this week was fair enough and if it wasn't for injuries I would have thought there would have been quite a few others.

We should not get fooled by last weeks efforts.

Cripps and Charlie were exceptional.

Simmo, Marchy Fish and Wright were very good.

Samo, Ed, Plow and Garlett were handy.

The rest, not great.

Going with no ruckman was always going to be tough.

Lets see who gets a gig next week.

Murphy's body language is about as bad as Weiterings. Just looks like he is resigned to a shitty year.
