Would last with 4 wins or less earn us a priority pick this year? Perhaps something similar to what was given to the Lions in 2016, at the end of the first round.

The last thing this basket case of a club needs is a priority pick.
That’s the problem with this club, we think first round picks will solve the problem and lead us to ultimate success.

It’s not a given.

This club do not deserve hand outs.

A single PP won't make us competitive. We need 3 senior bodies around the ball at every contest.

We need everything we can get, Hawthorn had no problem taking handouts, Collingwood took handouts, GWS etc etc, nailing first round/early picks is what will solve the problem. We want as many as we can get.
If we don't deserve handouts then no one else did either.

We've had a ridiculous amount of top picks. Teach them to win.

When was the last time that happened?

Having had a night to sleep on it, I’ve decided the best thing for me is to go into ECO mode, at least until some sprouts return to growth.

But playing devils advocate, I think the non-negotiables we could identify for us to improve this year would’ve been
- Doch to continue his 2017 form and become the leader we need
- Cripps to receive that much needed support from our new midfield acquisitions
- Murphy to be unshackled by leadership responsibilities or tags
- Kreuz to be fit all year
- Blokes like O’Shea, Graham and Lamb to play exclusively in VFL
- Garlett and Pickett free to roam the F50
- Another year for our back 6 to create more chemistry
- Harry / Kerr to squeeze Casboult out to a backup KPF / ruck role
- Our new draftees (and 2nd year players) free to come into a settled side and able to develop without extra baggage

How many of the above have occurred?

After seeing the game last night sadly I cannot see us winning a game this year , the guys have no confidence in themselves or there team mates , it's very sad to watch, we are way to slow through the midfield, our forward entries are a disaster and our defence is under so much pressure it simply can't cope , I no we are missing senior players but we are a very long way off even looking like we are competitive , with our current situation I don't no how we are going to attract the players we need , sadly we are not and will not be a destination club for some time to come , at present we do not have a leader to say to the young guys , come with me and I will show you the way, but I will stay the course and keep the faith as I cannot and will not walk away but at the moment it is so so hard, Go Blues

So we're saying if we're so shit that if the AFL want to give us a PP we should refuse it?

By that logic we shouldn't accept pick 1 or whatever we end up with because of ladder position .

We'll take whatever's on offer because it doesn't make a difference. Any negative perception of accepting a PP wil be quickly forgotten if the kid can play.

Don’t we have to submit an offer for a PP, the AFL don’t just hand them out like they use to? All this talk that we don’t deserve one, the afl have rules that allow for a PP to be allocated to teams that have performed poorly over a period of time, regardless of the fact that it may have been self inflicted. So why don’t we deserve one? We’re not shit enough?
