Hmmm ... I keep seeing the statement ... High Picks don't necessarily bring you success.

And thats true ... however ... high picks give you more chance of success ... Otherwise ... picks don't matter ... lets apply to the afl so that every year we get the last 4 picks in the draft

Clearly we need to care about getting as many high picks as possible. :donk:

I am happy to take a priority pick this year as well. We are in for a terrible season but by the end of 2019 we will be so full of young talent there will be no excuse for any coach.

First attention needs to be given to our midfield! More in and under players to help Cripps. We are also in desperate need of some outside spread and run players. Next ... get rid of the list cloggers ... no more c graders please.

By the end of next year we need to be showing dramatic signs of improvement ... otherwise bye bye Bolton ... Hello Brett Ratten (early doors yet) ... just stirring the pot :smoking:

Predicted Wins in 2018 :

Give that our easiest part of the draw was rounds 2 to 6 .... we will finish with 2 or 3 wins tops.

Priority pick in a very strong and deep draft would be handy. If we finish last, we'll get 3 inside the top 20.

Obviously need to wait and see how the year unfolds. But yes, if we stink it up this year (as we continue to develop), then we should be applying for a priority pick. They're designed to be given to perennial strugglers, and our recent history/record means we well and truly qualify. If Brisbane deserved one last year, then why not us?

And yes, it would be great to get that extra pick in the top 20.

We traded this years 2nd round pick so we need the bulldogs who's 2nd round pick we have to finish as low as possible.

SQL errors.

Our defence is the worst defensive team I’ve seen since the mid 2000’s.

But, we have been decimated by injury this year down back.

Agree with you, three priority picks inside top 20 would be great and accelerate our healing, we're a long way behind and just to be politically correct give same to the Lions as well, they need a leg up too. It’s a deep and rich draft so the completion shouldn’t get stroppy.

Well I thought we'd finish in the bunch between 12-16 but that looks a bit optimistic now.
We're almost a certainty for the spoon.
Again.

Nothing is CERTAIN after only 6 rounds.

I expect us to regroup when players such as return from injury, Kreuzer, Murphy, Silvai, Weitering, Pickett, Lang, Williamson, Byrne, Cuningham and we have some semblance of continuity.

I also expect some of the kids like SPS, McKay, Macreadie,Dow, OBrien, Silvagni, Polson, LeBois and Garlett to show a lot of improvement, and with pressure for spots....

Speaking to a few Carlton supporters in recent days and the view is the same. We won't win a game.
I am sure we will, at least I hope we do, in the second half of the year.
We need to finish the year off well if we hope to entice any players to the club.

Finishing the season well that is the key. We really need to go into the trading period as a team with a with 6 tall and tortoise-slow defenders and get run off

I expect us to end up with 2-4 wins but at the moment cannot see what games those will be (maybe/hopefully the first against the DrugCheats*).

I did prefix it with 'almost'.
Some of those are long term. Williamson, Pickett and Byrne for starters.
Some of them are bit playera atm. McReadie, LeBois, Cunningham, Polson, Garlett.
I am always the optimist as you may have realized but at the moment I can't see us with more than one to three wins.
StK a possibility, Essendon* and MAYBE Brisbane, which seems to have the wood on us lately. We will play Zorko back into AA form.
I hate being wrong as a rule but this time I am looking forward to it!

We’ll beat the junkies, Melbourne, Spoons one against Brisbane and we’ll shock someone.

If we can get some of our injuries sorted we’ll win games. We’re not as bad as we look

We may well win a game or two in the back end of the season but it ain't gonna be pretty when we are zip eleven at the mid point.
