Had a great positive/confident mindset from the start. Coaches had them prepared very well. That will put a pep in everyones step.

Really positive signs from Dow, Fisher, Kennedy and Byrne. Great to see Cripps and Curnow out there and looking strong again.

Some good young and inexperienced player involvements. Fisher, Cuningham, McKay, Dow, O’Brien as the game went on. Garlett has some good potential. No Weitering or Petrevski-Seton or Gibbs. Pickett. Lots to like for a rebuild assessment.

Scrappy game but some good signs from some of the youngsters.
No injuries and a win for confidence.
Oh, and apparently the lighting was not very good.

Nice start for the boys.
Jones had another great night at FB apart from that brain fade late.
Marchbank is a class act.
Dow, Kennedy, O'Brien and Garlett good pickups.
Cripps another good game.
Jack did well in the second half especially.
A good game from Thomas even though he got caught once or twice.
We have covered Gibbs with a combination of players.
Good to see Cripps and Kreuzer playing forward roles and getting shots at goal.
I like the more attacking game style already. More risks taken and more goals scored. OK, it led to a few sloppy turnovers in the third but we bounced back from that and it is only February.

On the minus side:
The St. Kilda commentators, boundary riders and so on were shameless.
The umpires made a lot of mistakes on both sides. It doesn't look like we will have any improvement there.
The Curnow boys were quiet, which is great seeing as we won.
They thrashed is at the clearances 30-16. A lot of that has to do with Kreuzer's poor tap work. It has never been a strength of his, despite his other qualities.
They had 64% of the time in their forward half. See clearances.

Looking forward to next week already.

Our midfield is screwed without Gibbs...

Dow, Kennedy and Fisher added to Cripps, Murphy, Curnow and SPS is a decent unit.

Good team performance tonight and still got Weitering, SPS and Williamson to come in.

Was it Thomas trying to kick a banana on the hbf?

Almost 1:1 for kick to handball ratio. Averaged the fewest handballs last year so will be interesting to see if this continues.

Think we saw the good the bad and the ugly game plans tonight.

The good signs we showed tonight should help membership figures.

Good signs from new recruits/draftees. Kennedy's going to be good. Dow's a ripper. Garlett will only improve.

Still to come, who we know can play: SPS, Weitering, Williamson, McReadie. Reckon Lang will surprise a few too. WE HAVE DEPTH.

And with a few players to move on at seasons' end, a deep draft this year and a free agent such as Robbie Gray or a Tom Lynch. WE'RE NOT FAR OFF.
