could sense the emotion in my friend's voice,

In this Carlton article there is the background of how the Abba girls got to wear Carlton jumpers when they were on tour in Australia, a brain child of Keith McKenzie.

Our family had a photo of the two Abba girls in Carlton jumpers, my father was working for Carlton at the time. Unfortunately my sister lent the photo to a Carlton supporting musician, a drummer for the band called The Stems and we never got the photo back.

Everyone knows you can't trust a drummer. I remember when my daughter was in high school The Stems and The Lime Spiders were considered the two coolest Australian bands around.

Just watched the Tony De Bolfo interview with Keith.
I knew he was around all those years but his influence on the club was a lot more than I realized.
The stories of that era are great listening to an old supporter like myself.
