Me, too.
Next to the glass window of the then Blue Diamonds coterie (outside) with my dad.
In the Herald Sun photo we are there as clear as a bell, which is weird because I was in Sydney that year and must have gone down for the weekend or been on leave or something.
We had the same seats in that stand for years and sat in among the Bendigo people who came down.

It’s the reason I’ve always used the photo as my avatar.

Fair enough

Someone should have told the Buzz that you are suppposed to take the ball in front of your face with your arms extended.
A few good ordinary marks in that package from Youtube.

Had a great side on view of that mark from the city side flank.
Never forget it.

I came down on the bus from Bendigo that day, seeing Buzz take that mark was an unforgettable experience. I remember as the ball came in he took a couple of steps back and I remember thinking "gee, he's going to have a real leap at this". Slight understatement!

Club should buy the memorabilia and then return to sender. Unfortunately they don't give a stuff about Buzz given they couldn't bend the stupid rules to get him in the best 150 Carlton players of all time - so a great players premiership jumper will likely end up framed and on the wall of some tossers house in Toorak.

Why should it? I feel very sorry for Buzz and others in WA caught out, but what obligation does an employer have to look after an employee who worked there for 3 years almost 40 years ago?

I’m a supporter of the club preserving items of historical significance, but - frankly - there are plenty of jumpers from the 80s around and framed posters of Buzz taking mark of the year.

Buzz’ predicament is extremely unfortunate, but it has nothing to do with Carlton. I hope Buzz finds a white knight, but as a stakeholder in the club (paid up member) do I want the club’s finite resources spent this way? Not sure I do.

If a ‘tosser from Toorak’ is prepared to stump up the cash that Buzz needs, good luck to them and good result for Buzz. I’m sure some other WA pensioners wish they had that option.

Because the club didn't always do right by Buzz, has a chance to do something good - and get some positive PR from it (the PR worth more than the cost of a Grand Final jumper).

Agree. For all we know it might have been a "high risk, high return" investment he's poured money into.

And not for the first time by the sounds of it.

We all have to live with the consequences of our actions.

Buzz was a salesman for Sterling First and introduced the product to me with a view to investing or introducing investors. We went to a meeting with Bruce Monteath the tigers premiership skipper who was a major promoter of the scheme. I understand Buzz put his own money in, sorry to see him lose out, he has been done over a couple of times with plausible property investments and in my reading of him he was not trying to get rich quick, just thought they were good deals and was used for his profile and personable character to get punters in.

He needs help from the Carlton family.

Helping fund Buzz's challenge is a great way for the playing group to realise they are part of something special.
