No way should we trade Weiters.

He along with our other young immature blokes have been taught a valuable lesson this year which is to endure.

As supporters it's hard to watch and I'm sure it's twice as hard for their coaches and families to watch them struggling physically and mentally.

Give these kids a couple of years to physically/mentally mature and I reckon we'll be very glad we didn't give up on them.

Reasonably certain he's going to be an alright footballer.

Serious concerns whether it's the right culture fit though. Scully and Melbourne all over again, for better or worse.

Suspect form issues rectified once hes able to play one role for an entire season. From afar he seems like the most serious bloke in the AFL in a team full of blokes who've never been anything but.

Pick 6 in a loaded draft (especially if we're bringing in another tall) seems as good a price as we'd get.

TC confuses me.

Thousands of posts have been written complaining about trading out talented players for draft picks.

Nek minit: "Trade Weitering for pick 6".

Because Jacob Weitering = Jack Watts. They even share the same initials. Nostradamus saw it coming, we should too.

(I actually do think we should be looking to get some value for him now. I'm not sure he'll be as good as we thought. He struggles to keep up with the more mobile forwards and is undersized against the taller ones. Seems to panic and give away a lot of frees. When he does get it (if he doesn't fumble) his kicking penetration and accuracy nowhere near as good as it was before he was drafted.

Interesting and fair points, but I'd love to give him a couple of seasons where:

a) the backline hasn't been decimated by injury
b) we have a somewhat functioning midfield

Also largely dependent on what we plan to do with him. The Watts comparison is pretty apt.

Melbourne never had the conviction to play him in one position, let alone a prominent one. Same issue with Henderson. If we make the decision that hes going to be our CHB for the next ten years, great, commit to that and some hard calls would need to be made about Rowe and Jones and possibly Plowman in order to facilitate that.

If we're going to use him as a third or fourth tall, pick 6 is excellent value for the loss of that from our structure. Which currently struggles with too many talls as it is.

Have any of the "Trade Weitering" camp seen the most recent video of Bolton informing TDK about his first game?

He puts the Carlton Spine on the board.....Weitering is one of them and names him as part of the future.

Unless SOS is not talking to Bolts, he is not going anywhere.

Carlton veteran Matthew Wright is poised to remain at the Blues despite being made to wait for a new contract.

Wright is one of several experienced out-of-contract players at Carlton, a group that includes Sam Rowe, Kade Simpson and Dale Thomas. Thomas’ re-signing has been flagged, while Blues coach Brendon Bolton said after Sunday’s loss to the Western Bulldogs that Simpson’s career was also set to stretch into a 17th season.

ASOS has retired. Poor bugger. His body let him down in the end.

I'm surprised there hasn't been much discussion about our new head of football.

Hard to see from afar what makes him a standout candidate for the job, especially given SOS's ongoing spat with his brother.

Looks like a high risk (to the downside) pick to me.

Fremantle has hardly been the poster child for building a premiership list!

We can't afford any misteps if we are going to make it back to the top.

i'd keep Rowe if he's willing.

Move on the rest assuming they are uncontracted?

He’s not at that list but I’d keep Kerridge for backup as well. Will play mostly in the vfl but handy backup in case of injuries.
