Wishes and some rumors I've heard.
Chasing Dahlhaus is a must.. wants a 4 year deal dogs only willing to offer 3. The kid can play.
Jayden Hunt on our radar, extremely quick, is out of favor. Only 23 years old.
Jack Scrimshaw is another on the radar, 20 later this
Wallis will rensign with the dogs.
SOS will not offer big money for FA's, Gaff McGovern etc.
Money ball and the draft is what he loves..

Lang isn't a midfielders arsehole, Brodie and Scrimshaw haven't shown much at all. Wallis yes, but probably won't come. We're in a pickle no doubt about it.
I would strongly consider Nelson from the WAFL, Panos from the SANFL. We have to find a Barlow/Mitchell from our late picks/rookie instead of just wasting them like we usually do.
Brayshaw from Melbourne would be nice.

Ah, well here goes.

50 years of following the club and this process of change is painful. Very.

Seems we have two paths to go. Change strategy now or hang tight.

Easiest thing to do would be to change strategy. Soothes those that are disgruntled and serves the media.

Our current position reflects an investment. A punt. Anyone with anything to do with the club would be reflecting. Human nature.

A couple of recent experiences have given me some insight.

Friday night, I was at the Saints Presidents Dinner. Fitzy and Lo Giudice were there. Fitzy was by no means jumping through hoops, nonetheless he encouraged patience.

Recently a conversation with Steven Trigg, revealed his deep belief in the direction of the club. While disappointed with the way he left, he was deeply passionate about the new direction the club was headed. 3-4 years ago we were regarded as THE boys club with a supporter base measured as the least engaged. He recalled the biggest challenge he faced 4years ago was wrestling with the likes of J Elliott - convincing the need to invest in a future

....he shared our immeadiate challenge is to stick with a program of change that started 3-4 years ago. To support our strategy and keep it on track the club must leverage the surplus $3 million of funds we’ve accumulated through salary cap savings. SOS and the club need to secure established FA talent to compliment our emerging young A graders.

Trigg is a lovely chap, he would like to think that he changed that perception, but he was ultimately unsuccessful.

MLG was courting Triggs's successor before Trigg was even out the door.

The justification used to replace Trigg was membership numbers/disengagement... and unofficially, football department issues.

Trigg removed McKay from his role managing contracts/the salary cap in 2015.

Trigg didn't appoint/wasn't able to appoint a national recruitment manager for 2 years because SOS wanted to wait for his buddy from GWS... so we did without.

SOS was given his role, and since Trigg's departure, he's had the freedom to build a nice little department for himself.

We're solely dependent on SOS for free agents which he's whiffed on so far, as well as the list composition which is incredibly unbalanced with huge gaps.

He's under no scrutiny because he's mates with MLG.

The plan is good, doesn't mean it's being implemented well.

Hanneberry seems unsettled at Sydney. 27, and until this year a quality player.

Sydney will need points for their academy players (especially if they use their first pick on Darcy Moore).
Yep. Bring Dan home to Carlton where he has always belonged. And lobby the AFL for an uncle-nephew rule.

Would not go anywhere near him, nothing but trouble with Sydney. Will probably come back to Melbourne but let someone else deal with him.

Shane Nelson from West Perth? I like him a lot. Uses the ball well, is fast enough, and gets a lot of the ball. Thought the WA clubs would have grabbed him by now. I like how Luke Meadows plays too.

if true; it's another boy's club. we've gone from stick's boys club, to SOS's boy's club ... and so far the results may be even worse than before.

i have a big problem when there is just one guy making such big decisions for the club. nothing good ever comes from this. a committee is needed.

If you look over our results each week, I'd argue we'd have a much higher rate of scores being kicked against us as a result of errors or turnovers from our bottom 4 players than any other. Maybe bottom 6 as the season goes on, rather than just opposition teams scoring from good structures, or better ball movement, or their A-grade players being too good.

I'd love another 5-6 moved on, but we're just going to replace them with this years' Shaw/Mullett/O'Shea type instead.

Minimum four delistings due to 4 high draft picks. Keep the ones that are both setting a good example off-field and suit the make-up of the list. Delist the ones we can find a way to upgrade through trading and free agency.

2 of Silvagni/Rowe/Glass-McCasker should go. (Rowe delisted/re-rookied if its the other 2)
1 of Kerridge/Lamb/Graham goes. Another if we sign Dahlhaus or equivalent free agent type
1 of Shaw/Mullett/O'Shea, another if a better ready made rebounding defender is available through trade or free agent (Scrimshaw?)

Re-sign Simpson, Pickett and Wright for one year each. Thomas a matter of salary and what happens during trade week.

So long as we use all our picks in the top 30, (hopefully four of them), in the draft I'll be comfortable.

If they package picks together for some trade that nets us a kid who's not quite making it at another club ..

Carey's idea that we should trade #1 for a handful of C graders ... :screwy:

SOS has never been a polished media performer and gets very nervous in front of a camera and audience when speaking.

If he doesnt' have his ducks in a row - (actually it would be better if Wayne Carey was conducting the interview) then he will be stitched up.

Geez the amount of white noise in the media, all experts on our predicament smfh. All with our best interests at heart no doubt. God I hope we don't listen to any of these pricks like Roos.
Roos had the same genius idea as Carey lol. Trade our 1st pick for some recycled spuds. He then proceeds to list the Tyson deal as a great success fmd. If anything he held Melbourne back; wasn't he suppose to f### off to the U.S once he finished coaching? Hasn't he done enough f##### damage to the game?.... Now he wants to completely screw Carlton.
