I think unfortunately for both Kruezer and us that time has passed. If I was GWS I wouldn’t want to be relying on a banged up Kruezer. Has it been confirmed he has his heart issues sorted?

It would also be like watching Betts run around for another team. Rough.

* - Lobb looks as good as gone, they have no decent ruckman.
* - From our list perspective, we're one tall too many, and it looks as though Casboult is generating zero interest.
* - Need to make a call on both Phillips and Lobbe also at the end of next season, not sure we can make informed decision otherwise.
* - Good way to fit De Koning into the side, if we've already got McKay/Curnow/McGovern up forward.

Id much prefer to keep big Kruze. Our backup rucks are rubbish and TDK is years away from having a AFL body.

Guess it depends on how deep GWS cut - if they're still a chance for win now mode, then I suspect Kreuzer provides a decent stop gap solution, especially in comparison to the alternatives - Eagles have more cap space, far more advanced in discussions, and they're left with Hickey, Roughead and other assorted spuds.

If they're losing Shiel, Lobb AND Scully, I suspect there's no real desire to have him there, and Dawson Simpson on minimum wage is just fine contextually.

Kreuz ain't going anywhere, but if we were to offer him up I wouldn't want to be throwing TDK to the wolves .

So either/both Philips and Lobbe stay on until TDK's ready (which may not actually ever happen), we target Preuss from Norf, or bring in someone from VFL/WAFL/SANFL who's been in the system long enough to not be bashed around.

Well that's the point, we've got both on the list for next year by the looks of things. Either one's good enough to take the mantle as #1 ruck, or we make a guess at the end of the year based on splitting number 1 ruck position in the Northern Blues. Or both are shit, and you go with some combination of TDK/Casboult/Rowe/McKay, and we play the extra midfielder to allow us such a tall forward line.

Having Kreuzer next year really muddies the list management for next season and potentially robs TDK/McKay of game time.

Rod, I think the club has decided to let Krooz, Phillips & Lobbe run the ruck for the next 3 years. We know the bodies struggle to play a full season so hope we can have at least 2 up and running at the one time.

This will also give DeKoning and to a lesser extend McKay time to get their bodies ready. I feel sometime in the next 2 years will probably draft another ruckman but by then, Lobbe and Krooz will be done.

I think it’s good smart list management.

If Shiel & Setterfield nominate us (I’m not confident they will)......

Keep #1 (Walsh).

Trade 25 and compo player to Adelaide for McG.

Trade 24 and 2019 first rounder to GWS for Shiel & Setterfield.

I don't mind that, but it'd be good to somehow stay in/near the 2nd round to grab a small fwd or speedy midfielder as well.

Otherwise we go from 1 to 60'ish (which I assume would be used on BSOS or Hickmott).

Yeah, we would have picks 1, 65 & 73. I reckon we already have enough under 21 talent to get away with that this draft.

Sounds like Fasolo (FA) might be the small forward.

Don't mind it. I'd rather see what GWS get for Lobb first though - and trade with them, or Adelaide deal with Gold Coast for 2 or 3 *if* pick 1 has to come into play.

Instead, why not:
2019 1st Round Pick, #25 and compo to Adelaide for 7 and McGovern
7 and 24 for Shiel and Setterfield (and if it absolutely came down to it, pick 1 for whatever combination of GWS' first pick, next year's first pick and the Lobb pick)

That's it Spook....

Adelaide want pick 1...all we need is pick 2...or at
worst pick 3...that's Walsh...!

we give them pick 1 and 25...they give us pick
2 or 3 and MM...simple...!

let them work it out...not our problem anymore...!

kindest regards tommi

anyone else think the K in K-Mart stands for
Kevin...?

Little birdy told me that a few players are changing their numbers this post season.
And the possibility of wearing their Hero's number 5 could become steak knives.

dont mind it, but as tommi said, would rather we get pick 2 or 3 to get walsh.

If the end result is Walsh, Shiel, Setterfield, McGovern (and who knows whats going on with Gaff) and a late first rounder somewhere ... its a great trade period. I would rather keep our 1st round pick next year if possible.

Will actually be interesting, with the live trade scenarios ... i think SOS will smash it in that enviroment.

No. Too much for Setterfield. Missing out on Walsh.

Genuine question, what's so special about Setterfield? I've never seen him play; I've read that he was the #5 selection two years ago and has made 2 senior appearances for GWS. We've nabbed a lot of GWS's high draft picks and it hasn't exactly been a successful venture so far, just wondering what makes this guy different.
