By no means is this gospel. But over the years I've been fortunate to get to know a number of people who work in elite level sports. Most of these people tend to agree that to some extent athletes should be held accountable for injuries. What that means is Yes often injury is bad luck but sometimes some players, and by no means all, but some players maybe don't take enough care in one way or another (preparation, game day etc) and as a result are prone to injury. Again don't take this as gospel as I don't work in sports and the views I've encountered are by no means universal but there's enough people who hold this view for it to IMO be plausible. Im not saying Kennedy is definitely one of these types but maybe he is. Time will tell. And even then it could all be bad luck. We will never know. But the reality is some players hardly ever get injured whereas some other players seem to get injured all the time and I can tell you there are some schools of thought on this. That's all.

Genetics is the dominant factor by a long way.

Gone;
Casboult Kerridge Lamb Graham Pickett Lobbe Polson Wright
O'Shea Mullett and JGM.
Could be another 4 or 5 easy.
We only have 10 to 15 afl quality type the rest are terrible, wouldn't get a game for the basin 3rds.......

Lobbe was one of our best today.
Polson re-signed for another two years. Casboult also contracted so unless he is traded he will be here next year.
I think Pickett will get another contract and maybe Wright.

Lobbe looks more effective than Kreuzer.

Kerridge was making a lot of basic/costly errors today, for the first time I couldn't see him being a player for the club next year. It'll be an interesting off season.

No, it just seemed to be more apparent today, right alongside Graham.

Disappointing to be honest, we have a shortage of stronger bodies already.

i think this is the step people are failing to see, there is no point keeping players that have hit their ceiling and arent going to improve.

we know what we had in buckley, and i didnt mind him, but he didnt set the world alight either. lets be honest, if it wasnt for the name, he probably never would have got a game. He was worth the try though.

Polson, is still very early in his career and could be anything. I will judge Polson after 30-40 games, not 10. (however this is where i think the O'shea and Mullets are errors. We know what they are going to be, would have rather taken a punt on an untried kid that shows potential)

I actually like Lamb in the back pocket. He is a limited player and is doing reasonably well there. Never going to set the world on fire but not going to make huge mistakes like so many others.

People's thoughts on Jarrad McVeigh??
Reckon he would be an asset to our team.
Simpson and McVeigh down back helping players like Williamson, Byrne, LOB and Cunners.
Docherty can move to the midfield to help out.

Sam.Mitchell would be another good get for the midfield coaching staff.

Carlton veteran Thomas set to play on in 2019
Quote:
The 31-year-old has played 18 games in 2018, averaging 22 disposals and 7 marks per match

I don't mind it... his energy and passion in such a disastrous season is invaluable

Good, he'll probably come 3rd in our B&F this year. Still going to be a very young team next year, we still need mature bodies like him and Simmo for a while yet.
