Horror year with injuries but irrespective players like Weitering, Marchbank, Pickett, Garlett need to harden up and grow up, if little Fisher can go past them at a rate of knots then it's a worry.

Marchbank and Pickett were quiet last night however have been injured for most of the year. I'm confident Marchbank will be an A grader if he can stay on the park.
I agree that Weitering's development has stalled however I think he will still be a good player - same with SPS.
Gartlett has been disappointing however we got him pretty cheap.

Lions did it comfortably over the Hawks in the end. Not a lot of KP depth but lots of mids/runners and not many injuries. Carlton is the opposite.

Best available pick 1 (Lukosious if he's ranked the best) then mids mids mids.

I say Sam Walsh, then do some deal for Shiel and the 2019 pick(s)

We might lose 2-3 picks if we acquired Shiel this year?

Would be classic Carlton...giving up depth to secure one player.

He most likely doesn't want to come to Carlton anyway.

Triple M Footy news breaker Damian Barrett says that Carlton will need a priority pick at the end of this season.

Speaking on the Saturday Rub today, Damo said that the AFL are investigating the issue.
LISTEN HERE:

“The club itself, for its own reasons… they went public out of nowhere and said ‘we don’t want one (a priority pick), we don’t need it, we are better than that’,” Damo said.

“They’re gonna need one!

“The AFL I know is looking at how they need to get one, and I think it’ll come at the end of the first round.”

This!

I was heartened that he actually gave a flower last night

Disagree.

I think he's taking the piss.

Terribly undisciplined.

This is here I am confused.
Does the club have to apply for one or not?

I'm sure the rules would state that draft order is ultimately at the discretion of the league

Again, why was Polson given a two year contract extension, especially before the end of the season?

A parting gift from the vet?

If Polson is in our best 18 and we dont need a priority pick I am going to start following Netball...

Unless we can trade pick #1 for multiple top ten picks (i.e. 3 and ......) we should get Rankine or Walsh only. Then trade our first pick 2019 for Shiel (he was good tonight) if he still wants to come. We only need 1 more established mid this year and a top draft pick mid then we will start to look a lot better in the middle and we "might" and I use this loosely, be even able to attract another top FA mid next year.

We won’t attract anyone until we start to show something onfield. Going by 2018, that could be 3 years away!!. Right now I’m just preying we don’t start to lose some.....

We need to cancel all game plans for the rest of the year and just go out there and tackle and hit players. Who cares if we get suspensions, we've already won the spoon. It'll be good preseason training for next year.
