If you could get picks 1, 2 and 3 for Cripps would you take it?

Lukosius, Rankine and Walsh for Paddy?

Not going to happen but based on the "everything's for sale for the right price" scenario what would you accept for Cripps?

well we already got pick 1 locked up. so picks 2, 3 & 4 for cripps? it sounds tempting in theory, until you see how skinny and far away these kids are from contributing in the afl like what paddy does.

i'd rather cripps & our number 1 ...

i hope we could trade out of 1, and get pick 3 and maybe 10 (whatever the points work out to?) and get rankine and another solid mid at 10.

id trade 1, if we get a High PP at 2 or 3.

Blues 1, 3 Gold Coast 2, 4 etc..

Id trade the 1 or 3 to Adelaide for 8 and 13 (or whatever they have)

so would end up with 3, 8 ,13, 24, 26 ? trade 8 or 13 to GWS for Sheil and use 3 for Walsh.

Walsh, Shiel, 8 or 13, trade 24 (Wallis), 26 (Dalhaus)

Walsh, Sheil, Wallis, Dalhaus with Cripps, Fisher, Dow, SPS, Curnow and still have 8 or 13 ... that would be enourmous for carlton.

thats an instant midfield fix right there. I think our defense is okay when fit (Docherty, Weitering, Marchbank, Williamson etc..) and Curnow and McKay (Pickett, Gartlett, Wright) have all the signs of being what we are after. I'd like to see Murphy as either a small half bank flanker or half forward flanker, reckon he could add 30 goals a year etc..

I really dont think we are that far away, and alot could change, and change quickly if we got a High PP and used it well and got the right players in.

Weitering - Jones - Plowman
Docherty - Marchbank - Williamson
Murphy - Cripps - O Brien
Fischer - Curnow - Dalhaus
Picket - McKay - Wright

followers Shiel, Dow, Kruzer
int Wallis, Walsh, Curnow, Kennedy

wtih Pick 8, Kerr, DeKoning, Garlett, SPS, Cunningham, Polson, SOS, SPS etc.. all coming in and out of the side, pending their performance and the performance of other players ...

Use FA or Pick next year to get Josh Kelly ... and wowee ...

Trading Cripps for picks would be the dumbest, dumbest, dumbest move of all time. Trading the house for lottery tickets when the jackpot is about the same as the house price. I can't believe anyone would even debate it.

I would however trade him for Dangerfield AND Martin AND Gawn AND Shiel AND Toby Greene as one big package. Maybe.

Yes. It's a good analogy, SOS says a throwaway line...straight away people jump to the most extreme scenario they can come up with.... fmd. Take a bex and lay down people no one is trading Cripps.

I'm responding to TC members who seem to think the idea has merit. I've no idea what SOS or other CFC staff have said, but I am certain none would consider such a suicidal move.

There are Blue Skies ahead.
What we are seeing on the field is largely a result of errors under previous coaches’ watches and a horrible injury list.
I like the fight and character of our young list developing.
With Cripps and Doc I’m charge of a rejuvenated list next year, games will be a lot easier to watch.
Bolton is right in saying that these tough times will hold us in good stead. With a new crop of young draftees and a couple of free agents there will be Blue Skies ahead.

PP probably be pick 21/22 , trade for Lloyd and Hannebery.
Offer FA Dahlhaus 4 or 5 years with good coin.
Pick1, simple, best player.
Second rounder next year for Tyson and Hunt, maybe a pick swap to get it done, Hunt has pace to burn and is only 23.
Second rounder for Scrimshaw, pick 25, bulldogs second.

Lloyd, Hannebery, Dahlhaus, Tyson, Hunt and Scrimshaw.
Great additions.
2019,
Docherty Weitering Plowman
Lloyd Marchbank Simpson
Hunt Cripps Fisher
SPS Charlie Dow
Dahlhaus McKay Rankine (pick 1)
Kreuzer Hannebery Tyson
From; Ed, Williamson, Scrimshaw, Byrne, LOB.
Kennedy and Pickett.
Probably missed one or two, looks much better with a few easy trades.
What would i know though.

I like it some great additions to the team. I've got everything crossed that Silvagni can do something similar.

Not having a go some nice ideas but I see a few flaws

How do you get Lloyd and Hannebery for pick 21/22?? Zero chance.
Cripps, Kennedy added with Tyson and Hannebury would make the slowest midfield in the league the slowest in the league by a fair margin!
Dahlhaus has kicked 1 goal this year and averages well under a goal a game. While you have added a potential super star forward/mid in Rankine none of the trades solves our goal kicking problems. Just placing midfielders like SPS and Dow forward doesn't mean they are goal kickers.

Lloyd would be a good get but don't see how that happens as would Hunt if cheap enough. Dahlhaus is probably most gettable going through a rebuild and already a premiership player.

Lloyd and Hannebery make way for a blonde hair boy from Collingwood. You just hear some little rumors about some players wanting a fresh start.
May requure some other later swaps.
Dahlhaus is another midfield/half forward who can play, costs us no pick.
Maybe a player like Aaron Hall from GC??.
If we do not add other decent players come trade time, our 2019 year could well be the same as 2018.
I understand the injuries but we still lack decent players. The kids will not develop without some older players around example Hannebery.

Yeah these hypotheses rely heavily on extreme generosity from other clubs. The reality is they will see us as desperate and will try to ream us for our early round picks. Is Hannebury still even any good? He's looked cooked many times this season; hell, even we held him to single-digit possies.
