Considering our trade and draft period I reckon this guy would have struggled to get a game next year so no great loss.

So McKay should be back now?

And all 2017 injuries bar Docherty I thought would see pre-CHristmas attendance / training if not modified programs.

Casey may have strained a quadricep or groin at training this morning. Not getting a good run.

I heard Darcy Vescio posted a picture of Cripps on crutches yesterday which was promptly removed.
Hopefully it was an old photo or a joke.

It'd be no joke for a business to withhold critical information from potential investors.

Who will captain Carlton after Murphy?

PRIME Carlton prospects Harry McKay and Sam Petrevski-Seton remain on modified programs, only weeks out from the club's opening pre-season matches.

They were two of a number of Blues, including Alex Silvagni, Sam Rowe and recruits Aaron Mullett, Darcy Lang and Jarrod Garlett, not to compete in match simulation at Craigieburn on Wednesday.

AFL.com.au understands two-game key forward McKay, the No.10 pick in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, is battling a toe injury.

Petrevski-Seton made 20 appearances in his debut season last year ā€“ scoring a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination in round seven ā€“ despite a quad injury preventing him from playing in the pre-season.

The silky 19-year-old, Carlton's first selection and the No.6 choice overall two years ago, trained away from the main group in recent weeks and instead focused on running drills.

Mullett completed his work on a separate oval on Wednesday, while Garlett practised his goalkicking during breaks in the match simulation.

Rowe's recovery from a major knee injury suffered in May last year against Fremantle remains on track and he is aiming to return in the early rounds of the 2018 season.

The Blues trained on Princes Park's back ovals and at Craigieburn's Highgate Recreation Reserve, home of TAC Cup club Calder Cannons, this summer as Ikon Park was resurfaced.

The first match of the AFLW season between Carlton and Collingwood will be held at Ikon Park on Friday night and the Blues will be back training there from next week.

Carlton cautious with Lang as he recovers from ankle injury
Peter Ryan

Published: February 1 2018 - 8:13PM

Carlton midfielder Darcy Lang is expected to resume running again next week after he was placed on a modified program due to an injured ankle.

The Blues remain hopeful be available for round one but are taking a cautious approach to his recovery to ensure he has no hiccups once he returns.

They are also keen to avoid setting any timeline for Lang's return to ensure he is not put under any pressure to return.

The 22-year-old has been on crutches after stretching the ligaments in his ankle and did not take part in a scratch match at training on Wednesday.

He crossed to Carlton from Geelong after 44 games with the Cats and adds midfield depth to the emerging Blues.

Lang has had an unfortunate recent run with injury hurting his shin during last season however the Cats rated him highly enough to bring him back for the cut throat semi-final against the Sydney Swans.

He retained his spot for the preliminary final against the Crows after an outstanding effort in the semi-final where he picked up 24 touches.

The Blues have had a relatively good run with injury this pre-season with Andrew Phillips training well after footy surgery and Harry McKay making a good recovery after having bone spurs removed from his toe.

Patrick Cripps has also had an outstanding pre-season as he comes back from a broken leg.
