The issue isn’t (fully at least) with the injuries themselves.

It’s the number of re-occurrences along with the lack of transparency from the club about recovery eta’s.

These two factors combined rightly or wrongly give the impression that club has NFI what its doing in the area of injury management.

While I agree to a certain extent, I am pretty sure that other clubs would have the same degree of laxity with respect to injury timelines. eg grade 1hammies might be 9 days, grade 2 around 3 weeks and so on. However, the human body is an interesting beast and some can heal faster or slower than others. I suspect they are using best practice models. However, the individual nature of the injury determines the healing. If it helps, don’t look at the weeks they suggest. They are arbitrary numbers in many respects. I take them with a grain of salt and it helps me!

Very interesting.

Maybe they were being rested or taken out to be reprogrammed.

Could be a good end to the season for these 2.
I like to think that.

I don't think Cunningham is considered injured - just sore. And McKay is just supposed to be sick.

Probably felt sick as he is the only forward to average 2 goals a game and 2 tackles a game for the best part of 5 years and gets dropped
You think that would make anyone ill

No Cuningham at AFL or VFL level but not on the injury list?

All a chance of playing some footy somewhere this week - we may actually start looking like a side again :)

As long as he'll be ok for pre-season.

At this point I'd be happy to just write this season off and prepare our team for next year so this bullshit doesn't happen again.

Good news for Plowman, looked like an ACL when he went down.
Saw that Casboult may be right to play this week.

Yeah, but fresh injuries this weekend for Kreuzer, Plowman, Casboult, TDK, Schumacher and Lebois. Plus the Thomas suspension. Cunningham & Kerridge aren’t on that list, but who knows when they will next be available.

2002 is the worst year I can remember with injuries. 2012 was a bad one too. Our response both times was to sack the coach...and look who we got next on each occasion. I’m cautiously optimistic that MLG & co will hold their nerve, but as the injuries keep piling up, and our kids + the overworked Cripps tire (it’s a long season), those nerves could be tested...

A poster on BF is saying that Williamson has been diagnosed with Chrons disease.
Hopefully it is not true as this is a pretty horrible disease and cannot be easy for an elite athlete.

Exactly what I was thinking. 2002 and 2012 were both disasters and this year is right up there. Fortunately we began the year with much lower expectations than we began those two years so I don’t think Bolton will cop the same fate as Brittain and Ratten.

Finally
A glimmer of exciting returns.
Can't help feeling Murph will get up for this one.
