Not only must he get past the manner in which he and others believe he was hung out to dry and ultimately humiliated by the Blues, a rejection that provoked and inflicted upon his family another series of distressing public commentaries about his affair, Lethlean also must decide whether to throw his hat into the ring for a senior club football role – a role that only weeks ago he believed he was over-qualified.

I did. CL was quite impressive, as you’d expect. He mentioned he wants to get some demographers in to help increase membership. He said Carlton is really strong in the over 40 year olds (adults who experienced the good times and stayed loyal) and the under 20s (kids of the aforementioned 40+ year olds). Where we have a massive hole in our membership is the 20-40 year old age bracket.

All this took place in a week when Hawthorn sacked their CEO Tracey Gaudry and installed Jeff Kennett as president, with Kennett stating Lethlean would not be considered due to the Hawks' standing as a family club.

So, in conclusion, Collingwood didn't want him. He thought he was too good for the Bulldogs and the Hawks didn't want him because he flowers around on the job. He's supposedly overqualified for a club CEO role, yet, interviewed poorly to begin with. And now he may not get an even lower profile job with Essendon**, that's if he lowers himself to apply for it.

And we're the bad guys.

I get that the way Trigg was handled was poor. And I also get that MLG may have told Lethlean hw would be given the job. But rather than stick the knife into our president, maybe Caro should focus more on how the board operates and seeing what Liddle has that Lethlean doesn't.
