Yeah, seems that way, haha. At least AGRO might be happy if we chase the northern corridor (and beyond).

Another article from Caro about Carlton's horrible treatment of Lethlean

Not only must he get past the manner in which he and others believe he was hung out to dry and ultimately humiliated by the Blues, a rejection that provoked and inflicted upon his family another series of distressing public commentaries about his affair, Lethlean also must decide whether to throw his hat into the ring for a senior club football role – a role that only weeks ago he believed he was over-qualified.

I wonder who was writing those public commentaries...

Quote:
And finally and most disturbingly of all is the possibility he might be passed over again. Essendon* chief executive Xavier Campbell is searching for a new head of football and has spoken to Lethlean but the latter is no certainty to win the job should he apply.

Imagine actually having to compete for a job!

Caro is unhinged in that article. It’s a rant not an article. What is she charging the club of? Following a process? Having second thoughts about a guy who didn’t interview well and has questionable workplace ethics? And why now? She seriously sounds nuts.

Why does she care so much about Lethlean's career? Does she write articles about everyone who misses out on a job these days?

I'm generally fine with what Caro writes but yeah... that column's off the radar.

Maybe she's upset about losing another inside source...?

Not to mention poaching one of her club's own.

What I liked about the article, of which most is probably true, is that we clearly now have a board which don't blindly follow whatever the president says. We got a good result because the group are functioning as they should be.

Presumably MLG has learned a couple of good lessons as well.

I did. CL was quite impressive, as you’d expect. He mentioned he wants to get some demographers in to help increase membership. He said Carlton is really strong in the over 40 year olds (adults who experienced the good times and stayed loyal) and the under 20s (kids of the aforementioned 40+ year olds). Where we have a massive hole in our membership is the 20-40 year old age bracket.

Nevermind Carlton, this is the best bit…

Quote:
All this took place in a week when Hawthorn sacked their CEO Tracey Gaudry and installed Jeff Kennett as president, with Kennett stating Lethlean would not be considered due to the Hawks' standing as a family club.

So, in conclusion, Collingwood didn't want him. He thought he was too good for the Bulldogs and the Hawks didn't want him because he flowers around on the job. He's supposedly overqualified for a club CEO role, yet, interviewed poorly to begin with. And now he may not get an even lower profile job with Essendon*, that's if he lowers himself to apply for it.

And we're the bad guys.

I get that the way Trigg was handled was poor. And I also get that MLG may have told Lethlean hw would be given the job. But rather than stick the knife into our president, maybe Caro should focus more on how the board operates and seeing what Liddle has that Lethlean doesn't.

Or she could just go off one final rant about a hated enemy club.

Good summary Camel..... 'Everyone' seems to be ignoring those facts.

Wow, so he’s admitting we didn’t already know this? I thinks he’s being a bit Captain Obvious here....

He didn’t say we didn’t already know it. It came up in the context of a member expressing concern during the Q&A about lack of kids supporting Carlton. CL corrected him and said we’re actually OK in the under 20 demographic. It’s the 20-40 year olds we’re lacking.

Trigg was no good. Not many of the staff liked him. He was quick to blame others for the clubs lack luster performance off field but the buck stops with him. He’s been described to me as A Grade Pr!ck
