Reckon with the AFL players association mandated time off we will be about a month ahead in terms of fitness going into round one. Then it is just a matter of skill and determination. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ll go stupidly early and say O’Brien & Garlett will play round 1. There. I said it. |

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I'd more think Dow and Garlett, remembering he has 2 seasons at AFL level behind him. O'Brien is very outside, Dow although he needs bulking up is in/out and could play forward flank rotating into the mids from game 1. De Koning & Schumacher obviously a way off. Of course the other experienced draftees will be ready to go round 1, it is just a question of if the force themselves into the best 22 available at the time. Assuming no more injuries I would have thought Kennedy a lock, Lang highly probable, Mullett strong chance, Lobbe only if we inexplicably decided to play 2 rucks and maybe not even then and Shaw would have to train the house down and exceed expectations in the preseason. 5 or 6 new faces a real chance |
