The outrage is outrageous and frankly I'm outraged

This is the greatest thing this club has done for a long time, the silent majority have had enough of the constant bullying tactics employed by the pieces of shite that are behind the scenes pushing this non issue. This club has really grown some spine, so proud tonight. Now hopefully the rest of you that haven't already can see through the lie and foolish ideology of diversity and equality.

Nice parody. "Stop telling me what to think you bullies, P.S. if you don't agree with me you're a slave to dishonesty and idiocy".

The club statement was about as bold as the team's attacking play. Sort of hinting at a Yes but not wanting to commit. Hugging boundary line, kicking long to a contest.

I agree with most here that clubs shouldn't be expected to take a stance and should have made no comment.

I'm not going to beat my head against a wall on here so I'll just leave this here and say no more. I'm not proud of this front page news, even though most of you are.

in before..

'its the right thing to do'

'human rights'

'equality'

blah blah

utter bullshit.

outrage for the sake of being outraged , grandstanding for self importance

look at me i know a gay person !! vote yes or you're a disgrace, a bigot, a homphobe !!

vote no or you're a paedophile, a danger to society and have no morals !! (somehow...)

if anybody wants to be outraged or be some sort of social justice warrior direct your anger at the government for being incredibly weak and wasting millions on this stupid vote.

They should have just legislated on it, allow it, whatever !

Dont be angry at a football club for respecting peoples choice.

I'll be voting yes on the most obvious human rights equality grounds and because it's so @#$%&! obvious (though I'd prefer the parliament alone were voting) but this is just bullying shit.

When was the last time football clubs were being pilloried for not taking a stance in federal elections one way or the other when issues were at stake that were somewhat more important like the future of the @#$%&! planet!

The Herald-Sun for years has been about as unsubtly homophobic as it gets and now they're the standard bearer?

This is an issue where, right or wrong, people have been asked to choose and pillorying them for choosing something other than what you want them to choose or not making a choice is what leads to the sort of extremist response that gives you Trump et al.

What a @#$%&! embarrassing thread.

Politics as football teams.

Agree with both of you, well overall that is. Even the AFL is so obvious in what it's trying to do. "we should look to be taking a stand for what's right, let's do a survey and make sure this is our viewpoint before committing"........ Took them a while to decide, "shit boys, even the ARU has gotten in first"
Without the vote they wouldn't have commented, let's not pretend this was an issue that warranted such a response.
Vote yes, vote no, don't vote, I couldn't give a shit, just get this over and done with.
@#$%&! north Korea are about to let loose and we're claiming this to be a human rights issue.

I've never felt this way before but I think the only thing we can do is put our money where our mouth is. I've been an AFL Club Support member for about 15 years (counting me as a Carlton member) but I've sent an email to them asking how I can switch that to another club for a year, or to not be a Club Support member at all. I'll still attend, but this trainwreck of a club does not deserve any more than that.

We'll welcome you to the kennel with open arms

You either support diversity or you do not support diversity.

Supporting diversity means the obvious, but it also means supporting diversity of opinion and supporting free speech.

I voted YES and proudly so, but I will defend with my life the right for anyone to vote NO.

Without that basic right we do not have a free society, we have nothing.

First and foremost we're a f@@kin football club ...... No 1 priority is football ....... No 100000000 priority is football

SSM has nothing to do with f@@kin football (in hindsight the club should have said nothing but then would have been attacked for their silence). CFC saying vote YES or vote NO won't change the final result nor will they influence my vote. Like I said ... we're a f@@kin football club .... let's concentrate on September 2018.

To those not renewing their memberships because of 'the statement' well f@@k off and enjoy playing scrabble over winter.

The stupidest thing is that it’s not even a vote, it’s a voluntary postal survey.

What position does the Club take on animal rights?

I've looked at both the Dogs and Pies fans responses on their fb pages and the response is basically the same divide as it is on ours.
I think the CFC statement is ok.
