LAMB'S SICILY TACTICS 'ILLEGAL'

MELBOURNE star Jordan Lewis “feels sorry” for former teammate James Sicily after he was targeted last weekend.

The forward-turned-defender was tagged by Carlton's Jed Lamb and gave away seven free kicks as he struggled to adapt to the close attention.

However, Lewis believed some of the Blues' tactics were “illegal”.

“I felt a little bit sorry for him on the night,” Lewis told Fox Footy.

“He’s a young kid and quite immature in the way he has played the game and hasn’t played too many games.

“I would imagine some of the treatment he was getting was above the rules and it was probably illegal. But that’s what umpires are there for, if they see a free kick to pay it.

“Lamb obviously went out there to antagonise him, that’s his position in the side, that’s probably why he gets a game. He would have been happy with his game.”

How would Lewis know Lamb's role/ position?

He's played HF all year and last year too, when he wasn't antagonistic.

The footy world knows to expect unsociable footy from Hawks. That's their game.
All Lamb did was protect himself by going on the front foot.
Sicily gave away 7 free kicks. He didn't get caught for all his unsociable behaviour.

How does Lewis know Sicily didn't start it? After all he's a Hawthorn player and that's their 'position' in the side, that's probably why they get a game.

Some the treatment he was getting was illegal was it Jordan? I would have thought some of the treatment he was dishing out was illegal, you know, with the 7 free kicks and all. Speaking of illegal, how about you go break another kids jaw behind play because you're washed up and can't keep up with him.

Btw, Ashley and Martin called, they're looking for a new ambassador. Wanker

I've watched the replay a few times now and on the TV, Gibbs kicks the ball before you can hear the siren.

Maybe the out of zone umpire hears the siren through his earpiece.

They do get it through the earpiece. I can't quite tell when it goes on the TV coverage, the crowd was that loud.

Anyway, Gibbs probably should have taken the mark and stopped to take time off the clock.

Yep. And what was he jabbering on about when Ling asked him about missing the goal? Was he trying to say it was somehow Boekhorst's fault?
:donk:

Wasn't that bizzare? He sounded like he was saying it was all Boekhorst's fault because he kicked it to him.

Just banter. Not worth analysing.

He was spot on. Gibbs was 15 metres on his own and Boekhorst blasted the ball at 100 miles an hour over his head. Be thankful we didn't need a goal to win the game.
All Boekhorst needed to do was lob it into Gibbs and he could have easily marked the ball and gone back to kick the goal.
Lack of feel for the game.
