They have crossed the line plenty, and have been able to get away with it.

Onward and upward from here.

Great for this young group to get a win over the Hawks and Swans in the one season.

The boys needed this win and will go towards building belief in 2018.

The 66 game rebuild is two thirds there and there a lot of ticks against new acquisitions.

Bit by bit we are getting there.

How nice it is to wake up on a Sunday morning after a great win
Ending the hoodoo, ending the Hawks season, and listening to Clarko whinging about Silly Sicilly getting whacked a few times just makes it a touch better again

Our previous close losses this year after leading into the last, and the Hawthorn drought led me to a very negative nelly post in the last Q......happy to say I was very wrong :garthp:

So many huge positives to take away from last nite too.

The continued rise of Charlie...you need to remind yourself that he is still a boy growing into his frame, but some of his work last nite was superb, with the spoil against 2 opponents and then kick off one step to Levi 30m out sublime. Next year and beyond I doubt there'll be many able to match up on him.

Pickett looks to have arrived. Lightning quick and can take a grab. Could have had 3 with a cm of luck and another we're he should have taken a shot but looked inboard to Kreuz. He could easily be our replacement for Eduardo

Fisher is just a little terrier, runs all day and fast, and has great hands. Work on his right foot over the summer would make him even better. But he's another kid....only first year remember and thrown to the wolves by Bolts to learn. Great draft pick.

Sir Liam is just Sir Liam. Nuff said. His form since returning to the seniors has been AA !! So good to see Byrne back after working his butt off, he adds heaps to our backline and completely fearless. And this seasons stalwarts - Kreuz, Docherty, Gibblett and Murph were great again.

We really do have Blue Skies ahead now. Natural improvement from Samo, Cunners, Williamson, Charlie, Macreade, Fish, SOJ (who had a mare last nite for whatever reason), Pickett, and Harry will see us improve again. Add the return of Crippa, and a big fish in the trade period and look out

Clarko in his presser with his usual grace.

'When Carlton when it's 12 goals to 10'......'That's how they play'

Just doing what they've done for a decade. Pot. Kettle. Black.

@#$%&! off cauliflower

And it's how we play now, but as we saw last week in Perth it's not how we'll play all the time going forward. He's just a bitter little sniper is Clarko. Never forget the Battle of Brittain

Byrne is the reason we got rid of Touhy. In my view he has way more upside. Think SOS and co knew this when they decided to let Zac go.

It might seem important that we finally beat the Hawthorn hoodoo after so many attempts.

It might seem important that players like Boekhurst and Pickett laid claims to the foundation of serious senior careers for the blues.

But the really important thing tonight, for the AFL and all football supporters was that Jaeger O'Meara was out there on the ground. Just the fact that he was out there ....... sorry .... getting a little choked up .... Just the fact that he was out there, ... you know playing footy. That's what it was all about tonight.

That and how good Kermit's going to be for us at CHF.
