it could've been a better weighted kick but Gibbs should've done better as well

Exactly.

I can't imagine Casboult being cut that sort of slack if he missed one from that range.

He was spot on. Gibbs was 15 metres on his own and Boekhorst blasted the ball at 100 miles an hour over his head. Be thankful we didn't need a goal to win the game.
All Boekhorst needed to do was lob it into Gibbs and he could have easily marked the ball and gone back to kick the goal.
Lack of feel for the game.

Yep. Simple as that.

Luckily we won.

Boeky will learn from that.

You can watch it 100 times, it doesn't change.
It was a shit kick. Gibbs nearly fell arse over trying to chase it and only just got hands on it before it sailed over his head.
A half paced kick to 20 out directly in front would have been perfect. It cost us a score and could have cost a game if a score was required.

If we needed to score to win the game, Gibbs would not have been allowed to be by himsellf 10 yards out.

Have to agree to disagree on that one. For me it was a perfect Pagan's Paddock kick to advantage. GIBBS misjudged the depth of the kick.

I wouldn't hang GIBBS for it, but certainly not Boeky's fault, IMO.

Nice to be arguing about this after a win, though.

FMD!!!

Gibbs should have let it go through the goals.

Gibbs touched it. Got nothing in the end.

Bloody good kick by Boekhurst

If Boeky knew Gibbs was 10 ahead of last line and didn't lob it to goal, then that's a different story.
I don't think he saw him. I did in slow-mo.
But Ive examined it and have a view.

Boekurst Cleared.

Very Nice To Do after a win.

Gibbs jested. He was a happy boy.

The Final siren must have been mothers milk.

Yes, that would solve it except it was going through for a point. I was in Aisle 32, behind the flight of the ball. It was missing the goals easily.
Nice try though.

Those in glass houses...
I'll be booing him if I go to a Carlton-Melbourne game...again.
Now to the game. I didn't watch most of it, except in small bursts.
Highlight without question from a viewing point of view was thatspoil by Jones.
My god what a feeling it was to get that monkey off our back.
The biggest mixture of feelings I've had over a win since we beat Sydney in their graveyard in 2011.
And I've been thrilled with all of our wins tbt this year. God we've got a great coach in our side. :thanks:

Just watched this game again. Obviously very satisfying getting a win over the Hawks. But really enjoyed the contribution from the next generation guys: Charlie, Pickett and Fisher. Also can't have happened very often (in recent times) to get 5 goals out of our small forwards.
